Heathcote Preparatory School and Nursery

Our eldest daughter can't wait to get to school every day. We've been really impressed with the individual attention that each pupil gets to help them excel not only academically but with their more creative and nurturing talents too. Our youngest daughter is in the Nursery, which she has attended for 2 years and again, cannot wait to get there every day. They have such varied days not only in the classroom but with outdoor learning in the nearby countryside, trips to the library and plenty of other activities to allow them to learn through play. The school is a lovely place to be for children and parents!

Our son joined in Year 4 last September and we haven't looked back since. It took him next to no time to get used to Heathcote's ways and he has made some really good friends already. Everyone made him feel welcome straight away and he has felt at home there. As a consequence, he has been able to focus on his work and make fantastic progress in Maths and English. He has taken part in some amazing workshops and been given sporting opportunities that he couldn't have had in another, bigger school. His love for Art is also being nurtured and encouraged and for all these reasons, we couldn't thank the school enough. His teachers have been immensely supportive and always give us regular, reassuring feedback which is very much appreciated. Also, before and after school care is excellent. It is home from home and that can only bring peace of mind to full-time working parents.

Having had children at Heathcote School for 15 years and this being our last year at the school I can honestly say I don't have a bad word to say. Both of my children have excelled academically, the first going off to grammar school and now studying for his degree and the second having been put ahead a year and finishing her schooling at Heathcote a year early after being accepted to entry exams to grammar schools. The support for not just the children but for the families being second to none. My nephew also attends Heathcote and is in year two so has a way to go yet. The school excels at giving children confidence and to be individuals, focusing on the strengths whether they be academic, sports or their creativeness. Thank you, the most important thing for me was to know that my children were looked after and happy and you have given us so much more. We will miss it!

Our daughter attends Heathcote nursery, I currently work in education and I can fully recommend Heathcote to parents that value education. Heathcote recognises that every child is different and ultimately knows how to bring out the best in them. I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter become all she can be in Heathcote.

Heathcote is a small friendly school, everyone knows each other. The younger children join in with the older ones all helping each other in this big family environment. The small classes mean all children reach their potential, our 3 children need help in some areas and excell in others which Heathcote are very good at understanding and pushing them in the right direction. I whole heartedly recommend this school.
