Story

Northfield Farm Shop lies in our original brick built farm yard, a short & beautiful drive up a lane from the A 606 which links Oakham to Melton Mowbray on the Leicestershire/Rutland border. The yard forms a quadrangle around a mowed lawn where visitors can sit out when weather permits.

The salt beef bagel is really good. The bagel itself is small, but the portion of meat is generous. If you want to try other foods from different stalls, I recommend just getting the bagel. It's best to visit on weekdays, as weekends usually involve long queues. The sandwiches are larger, priced at $10 each, and are a great choice for those who want a more filling meal or have a bigger appetite. There's also a box option with chips and salt beef available. No seating is available.
The staff is incredible disrespectful. Just because they’re in a market they believe they are entitled to yell at customers and have the worst attitude in ever. Personally had a horrific experience. Blonde boy and white lady in a ponytail were so rude. Absolutely no manner and both of them need to be laid off since they don’t understand a thing about hospitality. Worst food as well. Don’t waste your time, energy, or money
Bunch of crazy rude butchers!!! Don’t go there. Disgusting food and attitude. Food is terrible, staff are terrible. Specially a white lady with black hair in a ponytail. Epic fail of a store and I feel bad for the owner who hired such horrible staff but he should know better. Zero hospitality. Shame on them.
Salt beef special was great. Just wish there was a bit more sauerkraut and special sauce. Bread was fresh, crisp pickles, generous meat without overdoing it. Overall would recommend.
The salt beef sandwich 10£ was amazing!! Crunchy pickles with the mustard paired perfectly. The worker making the sandwiches was quick and efficient. He was very friendly and patient. The line moved quickly and it was worth the wait! They had a special with sauerkraut & that also looked delicious! Try them out!
A bit pricey for the sub par taste. Fresh-big cut pickles was actually really good, but the pulled dry aged beef itself was not that special. Slightly hard texture compared to other salted beef sandwich in town.
Crazy long line for this sandwich. The sandwich itself, very tasty and we enjoyed it a lot. However the service, and time it took to get it took way too long. There was one person making sandwiches with a line of 40+ people and he was moving extremely slow. There was a huge lack of efficiency and effort and the quality of the sandwich didn’t match the 45 minute wait.
I've heard the manager lady being horrid to her staff before threatening to dock wages for a mistake but today poor girl looked like she was ready to quit on the spot. Treat staff better! meat is good
Best Reuben sandwich I’ve had in a very very long time. The beef, sauerkraut, pickles, mustard and special sauce combination and balance was outstanding! The freshest bread held everything together. I’ll be back when in borough market again. What a find!
Amazing salt beef bagels and delicious secret sauce. Well worth the queue. Alison was ver friendly and we’re def coming back.
