I wouldn't normally have cause to complain, except to say that all too often there is only one till open at what must be the busiest time of the day: the half-hour or so leading up to the last collection. I usually find the staff to be friendly and helpful, but a recent incident has annoyed me. Admittedly late in the day, I took two packages to post, and needed some stamps. There was only one till open, and the queue was too long for me to make the deadline. I wasn't able to buy as many stamps as I needed, because there weren't enough at the till, but neither of these things annoyed me. The following day I went a little earlier to post three further packages successfully, and asked the same staff member politely for the extra stamps that I needed, adding that there hadn't been enough the day before. I was treated to abuse to the effect that I shouldn't be buying stamps at busy times. I can only put this down to stress and overwork resulting from that staff member's being left on her own at an extremely busy time on the previous day, but she shouldn't take it out on the customer.
Incorrect opening hours on Saturday. Only open till 13:00 not 17:30, as stated online. I suggest updating it so people don't have to waste their time only to find closed doors.
These miserable women should retire soon, Abingdon will be a nicer place if they stay at home where nobody bothers them, as surely working with the public is too much for them to handle. No hello, no smile, customers are kept waiting because they have much more important things to do than serve anyone.
Post office is NOT open on Saturday afternoon, despite what the website states. I assume limited services are available at the Co-op counter. Same at the Abingdon town centre post office. I have previously asked the PO customer services to make this clearer, but it appears to be too difficult a task.
Unbelievably slow service no matter what time or day and the staff, especially the lady with short red hair postmaster are exceptionally rude and obnoxious. If you have an hour to spend to post your parcel then carry on bit if you value your time then go to at Helens post office in town
The staff are so rude every single time I go to collect my parcel she will tell me “it’s not here” I’ve called amazon and they confirmed it is there I’m very upset.
I’d like to write that the other negative reviews aren’t correct but I have to agree with much that’s been said. Everything seems too much trouble for the staff and any questions I asked seem to get the bare minimum response. Unfortunately this is the most convenient post office for me to use so I’ll probably continue using it. The staff do seem to know what they are doing and get the job done but it would be much nicer all round if they tried being friendly to customers.
It was very busy when I was there, with only one person on the counter. She was very efficient.
Just checking the times and saw all the bad reviews. Some people really get worked up over some petty stuff LOL. People only give bad reviews or good reviews none are ok, who feels they should get online and leave a review for that? it’s easier to be annoyed then happy and how can you give people five stars just for posting their Mail. I gave five stars as I don’t want to lose even more public services, and yes I see Royal Mail as one. Growing up with them delivering all the best news the worsts news and life changing news they feel a very important part of England. Keep moaning and not supporting Royal Mail and we end up with the hit and run delivery services. who are delivering so much in a day they just don’t care even if your parcel is nicked or if you even get it.
The advertised opening hours are not correct - actually shuts at 13:00 on Sat, as I found out when I turned up at 13:10. Very frustrating
