Visited the library from the UON. Excellent place to visit specially the basement archive. Wealth of social history documents all secondary and primay sources. John Clare and Charles Bradlaughs collections were mind bogling to say the least. The newspaper dating back to 1720s and the early date voter list from the very first census of 1801 was an eye opener. How the people were allowed to vote and knowledge of electuion bribery and corruption in those days were amazing to know. Very Hospitalble staff and the briefing by the librarian was fascinating. Thank you all. You do an excellent work.

Disappointed with the snarky attitude of a member of staff when I had the audacity to ask for a particular book. She reluctantly looked on the computer and when she couldn't find it she offered me a completely different book that "could be like it" and when I turned it down she almost blew a gasket! It's such a shame, she let the library down, I would think again before using it in future.

I do like the library it's a nice place to go and do some quite studying. Though they lack a lot of descent study books, most of them are 10 to 20 years out of date. If you need to study something your better off buying an indate second hand book off eBay and keeping it. Just be aware though that a lot of homeless people come in to get out of the rain. I can stand the smell but other members of the public can not. They do ask them to leave though if they course a nonses.
