Beautiful clean campground, reasonable prices and lovely owner! Facilities are immaculate, with great showers! Can't recommend this campground enough!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here as part of our NC500 adventure in the Campervan. The park itself is quiet, the facilities are very modern and immaculate, and we received a very friendly welcome by the site owner Will and his two cheery dogs! There is a little noise via the train line and adjacent road as other have pointed to. We travelled with ear plugs and didn't find ourselves disturbed at all during the night. Highly recommend!
Lovely family run site, fabulous facilities, clean and tidy. The wet room was better than my bathroom at home ! The only slight downside was the noise from a main road and a railway line but not a huge problem for me, otherwise it would definitely have been 5 stars.
The site is a little isolated a few miles from town but it's impeccably maintained and the facilities are top class. It's also handy to the main road and Tain is a very quick drive away. It doesn't have the character of some sites in the NC500, but it's ideal for a night.
Stayed here for 1 night owner is lovely facilities are amazing lovely and clean washer 3 pound drier 1 pound .. free kettle and iron to use which came in really handy .. only thing is site is right between a train line and a quite busy road .. pitch was OK altho a little cramped to turn our LWB van but it was OK for one night while doing the NC500
The dog and I camped here 1 night in June 2021 on our Lands End to John O'Groats cycle ride. Small, peaceful, pretty and clean site, friendly owners. The trains roar past about 3 or 4 metres from your tent, be warned! After nearly having a heart attack the first time it happened, I actually liked having the trains passing so near as you could wave at the driver! The trains stop for the night anyway so you could sleep, which we did, like logs! I would stay here again if in the area, lovely little campsite :
I phoned and made enquiries regarding booking in for 1 week with my touring caravan and my son with his caravan and was told that they could not take the booking as someone might book in for 1 night, I was told to try the caravan site in Dornoch, IF I WANTED TO BOOK INTO DORNOCH I WOULD I WOULD NOT HAVE PHONED DORNOCH FIRTH!!! We have stayed there several times before and we are very, very disappointed that we could not get booked IN.
Great site and the owners are lovely, impeccable facilities/restrooms. I stayed on a hard standing pitch tucked down the end and the site is mainly statics but there is space for tents at the far end. Just be aware if you have a high-sided van or anything that has unforgiving suspension that you are sleeping in you are between a railway and a road so I felt the sway of passing transport a little but nothing to actually bother me. I'm heading back next month!
Lovely site, well looked after and very clean. Mainly mobile homes, but a nice grass area for campers and tents. Small play area for the kids, nice walk out to the edge of the firth, but sandwiched between a road and a train line. Noise from the road wasn't an issue, but the first train rattled past at 5.45am just feet away from the pitches.
We booked last night for a tent. The only positive thing about this campsite is that it has nice showers. The tent camping area is between the A road and the railway line. As you can imagine it was not a peaceful nights sleep. Cars were rushing past well after midnight . The last train was at 8pm and we were woken up about 6am with trains..our heads were literally at the side of the railway track. There were 3 trains before 7am. Tent area had a sign saying no vehicle beyond this point but there were 3 campervans just beside our allocated camping site. The last one arrived at 10pm and was parking only a few metres from our tent. It was rather nerve racking with the poor visibility. They were also toiletting their dog near the tents. When mentioned to the owner all he could say was at least the bathroom is nice. They charge £25 which is 5 above all other campsites for an extremely poor service and campers are an after thought onto a small grassy area. Other campsites have clean facilities, a quiet area for campers and a view. I am extremely disappointed as I expected really good service for the price and from the other reviews. We would urge all tent campers to stay away from there if you wish for a nice camping holiday.
