Hello, the hardest bit about North Warren RSPB is finding the place. However it is easiest from Thorpeness. Once my friend and I found the reserve,,we had a lovely walk and saw wildlife from the observation platforms. There is a circular trail which we did. The downside is that all the directions take you to someone's driveway which isn't signposted. Hence easier access from Thorpeness. This could be improved by the RSPB, but unlikely.
Very expensive way to see birds that you can see for free if you take a walk in most other parts of Suffolk or Norfolk. I would recommend you go down to Sizewell beach where you can walk north past the power station to the same habitats and a cheaper snack at the beach café.
Great for bird life - and dragonflies - and looks well. The trail map however is seriously inadequate. Is there a lower East / West path at all ? Why arent the viewing platforms shown? why is the Sandling Way omitted? Signage poor. Bring your own O/S map!
A super little reserve that is good for walking through. Lots of noisy warblers, and the odd heron and harrier. A rectangular route using the 'permissive' path makes for a pleasant stroll and brings you out in Thorpeness, near a tearoom on the 'Meare'. Recommended.
Great big fenced in area. Dogs have to be on a lead between March and October, i believe...

Probably pretty good for birds, but if you're interested in plants and invertebrates it's a bit disappointing as it's mostly inaccessible. Not that I don't understand why it's mostly closed access.
Not much wildlife present but a lovely walk to Thorpeness.
I went morning and the reserve was nearly deserted. Lots of opportunities to see wildlife, was ace seeing a marsh harrier.
It's a very relaxing area to escape from the rushing around in normal life,we all need this for peace and quiet
