We’ve stayed in Burnham Market several times now and can highly recommend Norfolk Hideaways. Their website and booking system is easy to use. We’ve only ever needed help with an issue once, during a stay, as the properties are always tip top when we did need it, assistance was prompt and they sorted the problem without fuss. For a couple of our stays we needed help with flexibility on dates. Norfolk Hideaways spoke to the owners and got everything sorted. They were brilliant. Can’t recommend them highly enough. Burnham Market is a brilliant base for exploring North Norfolk. Busy enough in its own right with plenty to do in the village and great for exploring by car or on the coast hopper bus. Can’t recommend Socius in Burnham highly enough for Sunday lunch or an evening meal. Book well before you go though. It gets booked up months ahead. The Gunton Arms near Norwich is also amazing - it also needs booking well ahead. Houghton Hall outdoor art event summer is always a treat, as is the Sainsbury Centre at the UEA campus Sainsbury Centre & The Gunton Arms would make for a perfect foodie and arty day out There are brilliant beach walks up and down the coast and lots of birding at nearby Titchwell, Holkham and Cley
Stayed with family in a house over the Christmas week. When we arrived, only one of the 3 beds were made, and there was a laundry bag in the hallway with towels and bedding which did not smell very fresh! Not ideal having to make up 2 king-size beds after a 4 hour journey! The house itself wasn't as clean as you would expect - found someone else's dirty socks under a wardrobe and dust under beds! Awful creaking floors which was unbearable in an upside down house...not to mention, we had 2 small children and they failed to provide a stair gate for steep wooden stairs. One of our party emailed them to feedback and was given a very poor response! Avoid this company as you'll only be disappointed!
I’ve been asked to leave a review for this site which is weird because all I’ve done is book a cottage. I found eventually a place that seems to tick the boxes suitable to our needs and I paid the deposit, that’s it. I was a little disgruntled with the £50 fee charged by Norfolk Hideaways for the pleasure of booking through said company and with no voucher codes on the internet and several websites offering the same cottage at the same price, I had to reluctantly pay it. I’m all for charging something, but £50 is to much in my opinion when you just run a website that hosts cottages for holidays. But my opinion of course. If I am asked to leave a review after the holiday, I will of course do so. I do rely on reviews for a lot of online purchases and referrals, so it’s only fair I do the same. We rented a superb property in Burnham market. It was not only perfect for our party, when we needed to move the date last minute due to medical reasons the team were super helpful. We’ve already booked for next year, great company highly recommend.
My family had rented our properties with Norfolk Hideaways for over 10 years and been very loyal and accommodating owners for all our guests over the years. The team at Norfolk Hideaways treated my family appallingly when I was forced to sell my properties last year. They forced a large amount of money out of us for ‘lost bookings’ due to the sale of the property but can still see the property available for rent almost a year later - so where are the lost bookings? Norfolk Hideaways are nasty, cruel and a bunch of cowboys. Do not rent your properties with them!
Booked Holly Cottage Heacham thru this company, very easy process. However, on arrival found some chipped crockery, stained mugs & stained cutlery, only two cereal bowls, but with excessive number of glasses everything needed a thorough washing before use. Our car was parked up for the week in area advised on arrival instructions not causing any obstructions or blocking any neighbour parking nor blocking footpath. On day of departure we found passenger door had been 'keyed', estimate now received, cost circa £250. Norfolkhideaways made aware of damage but only got sympathy. My advice to anyone looking to book this cottage...be VERY AWARE OF PARKING RISK!!. This was our first time with Norfolkhideaways & based on our experience it will be our last.
Booking our holiday with Norfolk Hideawaya was so simple and easy. Everything was clear and easy to understand on the website. Booking confirmation came through immediately. Hope the holiday goes as well!!
We have been using Norfolkhideaways for quite a while now, every time we visit Burnham Market. On our recent booking we have been informed that cottage we booked is not available. We weren’t happy with alternatives they offered us but the problem was solved very quickly by great custumer service. Always worth the price.
