We stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived at 4.00pm on Sunday afternoon, the young man at reception was very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, all restaurant staff were very attentive. When we settled our bill at reception the young lady Julia dealt with us in a happy and professional manner. We would be very happy to return.
My wife and I booked a Christmas break away and we had the most wonderful time. Chipping Campden looked like a Christmas postcard and it was a beautiful town to stay in over the festive period. Being a dog friendly hotel we took our dog with us and stayed in the Superior Room which was pretty perfect. The staff were fantastic throughout our stay and the food was second to none! They were so good to us and our dog we couldn't be happier with our experience! We would recommend the Noel Arms to anyone looking for a lovely break away in the Cotswolds, especially with a desire for dog friendly places to stay, he was treated like a Christmas prince! Noteworthy details: Dog Friendly
Lovely little hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little disorganised, our toast and sauce arrived after my partner had finished his breakfast. There was a nice selection of choices. Dinner was very nice, small menu but plenty of variety. It was lovely to see so many guests with dogs, they were all very well spoiled by the staff. Great variety of options with the tea tray in the room too.
This was a last minute stay on Easter Saturday. Our room was in the annexe and clean and comfortable. We struggled to get in to annexe at 11pm as someone has dropped the latch on the yale lock to the hallway. Thankfully bar person came through and let us in. I was then woken at 1am by another couple trying to get into the entrance Our room 26 right by entrance.. Please spend some money on keys so guests can let themselves in. Note a problem with hot tap, that comes on suddenly, so needs some attention. Staff were very attentive at breakfast, but let down by poor quality ingredients. The muesli was made of fine porridge oats mixed with very dry fruits. The toast was the cheapest sliced bread. We paid a premium for Easter weekend at £159 and disappointed. To top our stay off when we checked out a 10% discretionary charge added to our room for staff. The reception lady did say this was discretionary but we didnt feel able to refuse. I don't think we'll return.
I booked a feature room at the Noel Arms hotel for valentines day. They later emailed informing me that they were closing for that period and offered a room in a hotel across the road. I called them to say that I wanted to stay in the room I had booked so I was happy to move the date to when they reopened, I booked for the 1st of March over the telephone. A week went by and I hadn't received a confirmation email so I called them again, they said we have no record of any changes being requested and you are booked into another hotel on valentines day. I once again said no I'm happy to wait until the room I requested was available. I booked again and this time I received a confirmation email. When we arrived at the hotel we were checked into a different room, I asked again for the fourth time if I could have the room I had booked and was told it's not available due to it having no heating or hot water. The alternative room was absolutely freezing with just a small plug in radiator set to minimum. The following morning I tried to have a shower and there was no hot water. I went to reception to complain. I had to wait a while as there was another angry guest complaining about not receiving what he had booked and received confirmation of. I finally got to tell them I had no hot water and couldn't shower and the response was "I thought I could smell something" lol. At that point I realised I was in the real life Fawlty Towers and gave up complaining. The manager was even dressed like basil fawlty. The hotel does have some good aspects, it's in a beautiful location in the heart of Chipping Campden, has a lovely coffee shop with freshly made cakes, it has old-world charm, character and a great atmosphere in the evenings. The food is excellent, I had the black lamb curry which was amazing! and my wife said her steak was delicious. The reception staff seemed to be struggling with various issues during our stay but they made light of it and tried their best to help guests. We found Una to be very helpful.
BEWARE there is a 10% service charge on the whole hotel bill. Rooms particularly bathroom are tired. Breakfast choice has to be submitted day before. Nice bar area. Some staff very helpful and pleasant. Location is absolutely perfect for visiting Chipping Camden / Cotswold Way.Rooms: 2/5
We were struggling to find somewhere to eat one evening as we had a dog. They were more than happy to accommodate all of us. The service was friendly and welcoming. Food was great and the pub had a nice atmosphere. Would recommend to family and friends.Service: 5/5
Only came in for a coffee and cake. Lovely location, fabulous building like most in the village/town. Staff very friendly and great service. Lovely coffee and flap jack!Service: 5/5
Jesus Christ, that was the most bitter, burnt coffee I’ve ever had. Was it brewed inside a used ash tray? Cakes nice, ambience nice, service good. But learn to brew some coffee.
We were gifted this as Dinner and B&B, the room was fine, small double, with shower, nothing fancy. However the restaurant and bar are very cosy and the food was lovely. It's located in the heart of Chipping Camden, perfect for walks in the CottswoldRooms: 3/5
