So my partner used website to book table but arrived to be told they hadn't received booking and had to sit in the dining room next to the kitchen with no atmosphere, so ordered food, sat waiting for while and the young lad carried our meals past us and into the bar I didn't say anything as wasn't sure it was ours, 5-10 minutes later he walked from bar and put my partners pie on the table and took mine back to kitchen then returned with hot mushy peas so I assumed meal was hot put mayo on and bit into scampi that was cold and chips I asked young lad if he had just bought back from bar and he said yes, my partner asked if he could have his chips that was supposed to be with meal and they never arrived and his steak pie didn't look like steak pie, meals are small and not value for money. This is set in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds just 5 minutes from Chippenham Camden, whichever way you go it's beautiful with views and scenery. I would say its best to try this pub and make up your own minds.
First off, I was very impressed with the staff who are hard working and attentive. There was plenty of choice on the menu and quite a selection of draught beers on tap. What is also nice is that the whole place has the Cotswold feel to it. As you walk out of the car park, you get an immediate view of the Cotswold hills, its in a very scenic village, is close to Chipping Campden, and looks very traditional inside. Well worth a visit.
Nice , quirky, quaint pub. Very cosy inside overlooking the Cotswolds green fields . Very nice and kind stuff, quick service on a Sunday afternoon. Food was very good. Great garden and outside space. Yes, we'd come here again. Overall 4.5 stars.
The dark haired older lady in charge could have been nicer the couple of times we popped in. This was the only place in the Cotswold that was not a pleasant experience. I would say pass on this place and go where you are appreciated and made to feel welcomed.
Can fault service or effort but my god the food is not up to scratch. Not a single meal was finished and sending it back to the kitchen seemed completely pointless. Dog friendly pub but was still strange to have a dog just roaming freely around the pub which seemed to be the owners'. The smell of the dog was a massive put off as well. Plenty of other pubs nearby that I'd recommend to try instead.
Excellent pub highly recommend fantastic food but even greater service. Had the steak recently cooked to perfection by the chef ,very talented.
If you are staying in Chipping Campden you have to go have a meal at this restaurant! The service is great! They are very friendly and like talking with people that are visiting. The food is amazing! They have a lot of choices when it comes to beers and mixed drinks. Definitely would recommend checking out The Bakers Arms if you are in that area.
We had a great meal with friendly service. The portion size is generous and the food is tasty. Good size car park and all in a beautiful setting.
I loved it I am a big father brown fan, so sitting in the pub where it is filmed made my weekend, defo a worth while visit. Also the food was lovely xx
Great little pub tucked away in the village of Broad Camden. Good selection of real ales and food is of a high standard. Portions are generous too.
