We had a late lunch here last month. Ordered wakame salad, takoyaki, beef donburi, a couple plates of sushi rolls, and matcha ice cream for dessert. Everything was decent and the service was excellent.
I ordered as a takeaway. Quite tasty, good variety of rolls to choose from, I like that you can get a half size roll as well. I had spicy tuna roll and crunch salmon roll and both were great. I also had the gyoza which I really liked as well.
Almost every other Japanese restaurant I have been too, has been a haven of minimalist calm and serenity. This is the exception - clutter describes it quite well. Like Wetherspoons, there is table service via an app. This works very well after one puts in the correct wi-fi address whicis incorrectly promulgated everywhere - this, dear reader, hopefully, has been corrected by now. No complaints about the food though - as authentic as it could possibly be. Many previous reviewers have made issue with the imposed 10% service charge. I too prefer to contribute this independently when I see fit, but this alone will not inhibit further visits. Vegetarian options: In Japanese cuisine, the options for the more faddy eaters, are well catered for. Kid-friendliness: In Japan and therefore in Japanese run restaurants, children are tolerated with far more indulgence than elsewhere. Parking: Car parking in Clifton like most of Bristol is at a premium. There are no special areas for this restaurant, but if the timing is right, parking near, or even outside the door, is possible. Wheelchair accessibility: Unassisted wheelchair users will find access to this venue, an interesting exercise
Service - the lady server was polite and helpful, no communication issues at all. I told her I could not use the QR code and she manually took our order instead without a reservation. Order waiting was fair. Food - good quality and full of umami, from the miso soup to every single content and detail of our bento box. Miso soup was remarkably satisfying - hot and fresh and flavorful. We wanted to ask for more! The sashimis and the maki are superb. The tempura was so crunchy, freshly cooked, and stimulating. The makis have this distinct nice flavor inside. Mango and avocado maybe? Super like it. Price - i think they are especially priced, but could be pricey for some Location -it's right in Clifton. Be mindful when entering the establishment, as there is a 4 level steps going down before you reach the door. Toilet - toilet is good my wife told me, it comes with a nappy changing bassinet. Was a bit cold inside as the window was kept open. The men's room is okay. Ambience - there were not a lot of people inside, so good for us as we came with our baby who was on a pram. Homey and cozy feeling inside.
One of our favourite sushi place in Bristol. Food quality’s good , like the variety of the menu . Friendly staff.
We went here for lunch, always best to book as very busy. Great service and beautiful fantastic foodvery fresh seafood. Friendly staff. Particularly impressed by the care taken to ensure that their Covid precautions were as unintrusive as possible. We will come back soon!!!
Food was really lovely and good value. Staff as pleasant as they all were, just could not cope with a large group 30 of us they shouldn't take large bookings if they can't deal with it. Very slow service, waitresses got muddled with orders. We stood waiting to pay for at least 15mins wouldn't let us pay until whole table were ready to pay. Dislike the having to order by QR code. However the beauty of that is it does tell you how much your individual order was, all the more reason payment should have been easy. Parking is VERY difficult in the area, though obviously not the restuarants fault but it is off putting. Parking: A lot of the area is permit parking only Mon to Sat 9a.m to 9p.m. There is some pay parking available and even some free parking after 7p.m but you go to search for it and it's not that close.
This is my second time ordering from Noa take away and I found their sushi really tasty! They were even kind enough to stick in an extra roll of sushi for us. The only thing to fault was that there was a lot more rice to filling in the sushi and not enough wasabi! Would definitely order from here again :
From the sushi side of things it's very good, but I found other things I tried on the menu to be not overly authentic such as the gyu don which is more like a Chinese dish rather than proper Japanese gyudon. Would only go here to have sushi and not the other stuff. Also the waitresses speak only very limited English in some cases no English at all and shout quite loudly across the whole restaurant in Chinese which I thought diminished the atmosphere quite a bit. The sushi bento I ordered on my last visit however was very nice and a big portion.
The food is really good but due to them prioritising Deliveroo over restaurant customers l, the service can be very slow. Prepare to wait and often have to chase for drinks and some food items took a while or didn’t show up. It is a real shame as the food is actually good, but the churn of Deliveroo drivers and the priority of them over customers , it just isn’t worth coming in :-
