I stayed for two weeks and remained very satisfied  Big respect for the keeping all spaces including toilets very clean. The personal, for example, Monica on the reception, was very professional and gentle. I also was surprised with well equipped kitchen. In general, I have impression that this hostel is managed very well and organised. The area maybe a bit far from the centre, but the location is good there's bus stop 2 minutes of walking and overground station 5 minutes of walking, and supermarket. I didn't hear any strange noise during the night. I really advise this place, just remember that they accept only cash

This review is for the private rooms.nnIt's a clean, quiet room for an unbeatable price in London. I've stayed here twice on extended layovers in the UK, once in August 2024 and once in June 2025. The sheets and the bed are clean, and I appreciate that they have a full kitchen and ironing services.nnRespectfully, when looking for budget stays in London you do need to adjust your expectations. I've stayed in a number of budget hotels over the years and this is the only one that didn't have carpet mites or a mildew-y smell. London really is one of those places where it's worth it to upgrade your housing. This isn't a 5* experience by any means, just a safe and clean place to hang your hat when you're rarely going to be in the room anyways.nnI will say that this time the bathrooms were nowhere near as clean as last time. It was worth it to wait until late morning and use the facilities right after the cleaners. It seemed to me that there was a lot more long term residents there, mostly men, so it didn't have the same vibes as last time. I think it's probably a commentary on the global economic situation than anything else.nnThe staff have always been pleasant, by UK service standards. : Keep in mind their policies regarding cash that are provided when booking to avoid any phaff.

Pleasant experience overall. Not for people who are light sleepers as you're in a pub so it can get quite noisy. Beds were fine but are very creaky and make a lot of noise when you make the slightest movement. Some toilets were very dirty and weren't cleaned until past 12pm, don't really like walking into a dirty, smelly bathroom when you wake up. Deposit slightly more expensive than I usually pay elsewhere. Overall a satisfactory experience And I would definitely visit again.

The people staying at the hostel were great, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, which made the experience a bit more bearable. However, the overall condition of the place was quite poor. The room had a constant bad smell with zero ventilation, making it feel stuffy and uncomfortable. It looked like the building hadn’t been renovated since it was first constructed. The beds were extremely squeaky, and the bathrooms, while functional, were often dirty. To top it off, the hostel is located in a very shady area, which didn’t feel safe at night.

This hostel ONLY ACCEPTS CASH—like it’s the 19th century or something! After being awake for nearly 20 hours, I was told I couldn’t pay by card at reception, even though there was a card-only bar literally a metre away. Instead, at 9 pm, in the rain, I had to go out and try to find a working cash machine. Every single ATM within a mile was either out of service or not dispensing cash.nnI eventually called the hostel again, politely asking if I could just pay at the card-only till right next to reception, but I was told no and advised to ask shops for cash instead. So I did—wandering around in the rain for nearly an hour, being stared at like I was homeless or begging. It was humiliating.nnI was so upset I ended up calling my friends, begging for a place to sleep on their floor. This was genuinely one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do this for tax reasons, but whatever the case, it’s an infuriating policy. I’ve stayed in about 10 different hostels across London, and I’ve never experienced anything this ridiculous. Avoid this place at all costs.
