The less than pleasant experience started before I got there. The website has absolutely no information, their email address does not work and while they read their messages on social media, they do not respond to any of them. I managed to find out via other attendees that the performance I was interested was at 1am but I was ready to have a fun night it so it was no problem. Got there a couple of minutes before 10pm then everyone was kicked out to queue up again. They took us to a completely different room upstairs and then a couple of hours later let us downstairs again to the 'main' room. No matter who I asked in the venue, no one seemed to have any information whatsoever which just felt weird considering they all worked there. The lack of communication from staff really created a confusing night but the performers were great which made things much better.
Staff are really nice, they play good music. Have good events. Student nights on a Thursday is very cheap for a vod lemonade & if u lose something it’s so easy to contact them to get it back! More than what you can ask for x
Thankyou so much to the woman in the cloakroom who was so, so helpful with my stuff when my friends ran off with my phone. I didn't have anything on me and she saved my night, please let her know how thankful I am. Here's my ticket number as I had to run away after my phone bwha. I work in a club myself so I am utterly grateful that she was so willing to help and give me my stuff. Beautiful atmosphere too, can't recommend the place enough.
We just had a difficult experience in the que! My partner has MS, the bouncer refused us entering assuming he was heavily drunk! When challenged and try to explain with evidence, with a medical card! The bouncer staff abruptly refused to listen. As a result, there was a scene where the bouncer kicked us out of the que! We recorded the footage of the abuse and they grabbed the phone, and deleted the recording! Enter with your trust! Utterly embarrassing night! The bouncer are disrespectful! The security staff require disability awareness training, incident occurred on 27/11/22 around 02:00am, the management should look at their own CCTV camera recording, as I’m aware various people had recorded the incident from the balcony. The incident was recorded by other people walking by. It was a shocking experience from a LGBT venue, because of an invisible disability, security staff who grab your phone and delete evidence of the appalling behaviour they display! Nightingale should really reconsider the people they commission for their own security staff. And yes! I called them “bitch”! That security staff knows who I’m referring to! “Bitch!”
Good venue, multiple floors with friendly staff. Drag is fantastic. Honestly one of the best gay bars in Birmingham and also the UK, coming from a Manchester village regular!
we are not from brum & asked a few mates where to go clubbing & here was the most suggested really decent club - special shout out to Shakira, Tom & Zi on smoking bar we were chatting to them during their quiet moments and I was so impressed with their service also they were very good at promoting more shots to us I wrote a note in my phone to remind me when sober to “LEAVE SICK REVIEW FOR SHAKIRA,TOM & ZI NIGHTINGALE”so here it is! Doubt I’ll ever be back in Brum but if I am I’ll come back to nightingale to chat with them!!
The cleaning guy took our half-full cups. I guess u have to drink in this place, 5 minutes per beer fast. :-
Disabled discrimination. Came on my BIRTHDAY which I turned 25. I have a citizenship card. Was told only passport or driving license. I explained I am from London and don’t travel with passport. Then they said to show driving license. And I explained I can’t obtain one cos I’m epileptic and diabetic so can’t have one for my life lol whole life. I even had a picture of my passport that was photocopied and approved but they said no. No where on the site does it say those two only id’s are acceptable. I had a massive anxiety attack outside because of it. And on my birthday. No where on the site does it explain. They then acted so shocked I’m not aloud a driving license and didn’t believe me. Don’t ever go to this place. I’m sharing everywhere. Please do. One even said she’s not risking her job for something she doesn’t believe is true about my disability. #fightfordisability
Went here on Friday 9th September. The staff and everyone here is so nice so I feel bad for giving 2 stars but the woman who handles coats in the cloak room was so disrespectful. I asked her if they accept cash for drinks inside, I didn’t hear her cus of the loud music inside so I asked again. She became angry with me as she had already responded so I got upset and told her I didn’t hear her. this was around midnight. When we were leaving, I gave her a smile and asked for my coat. She asked which number and I told her I think it was 11 We had been in the club for about 10 mins so I clearly remembered it was 11. She again got angry with me and said she’s not gonna look for my coat unless I’m sure it’s 11 and to check it again. I checked and I told her I was right it was 11. She said I had a really bad attitude and slammed my coat on the table where then I grabbed it from after what she said. I had been nothing but nice to her but the way she was being this rude and disrespectful was disgusting. I guess she’s done this before and isn’t used to be being answered back with the same energy although I still was a lot more calm than she. Not all customers are the same. Some could have really bad anxiety and struggle speaking to people. Is she not supposed to take that into consideration? I know it must be difficult working late nights and dealing with drunk people, but showing this kind of disrespect and attitude customers when you’re at the front of the club and supposed to give a good impression is unacceptable. Other than thay everyone else is really nice.
I lost my flat keys in this club 2 weeks ago and a lady from cloaks was brilliant. She was really helpful and passed me back my keys. This saved me a lot of stress and inconvenience.
