Brilliant independent pub full of old school charm. Serves a lovely pint of Bass, which is so rare these days it’s worth the trip just for that. Top marks.

Nice local pub, with good atmosphere. Friendly bar staff. Has a dart board with informal games on Tuesday night. Thursday night can be home/away game when in season.
When I go in. There are tables that are not clean. Even though the pub is relativlely empty. There is one particular person that is not a good barman,that doesn't looked washed. He has greasy hair and just watches the T.V. All the time. and does not have good Customer Service. I have been going into the the pub,from time to time,for a good few years. And he does not make you feel welcome,even though I have been in that Esablishment, longer than him. And he still does not change.....Why???? Jimmy is great!!!
This place reminds me of old-man pubs in Sheffield where I used to live: relatively cheap, no nonsense. A rare London haven, in other words. I hesitate to recommend it only because I don't want London's usual coterie of Nathan Barley rejects to come in and ruin it.
Very good beer - probably the only place in London you can still get both Bass and Harvey's - but my God does it need cleaning. The toilets need jetwashing.
A 'traditional' real ale drinking pub. If you want modern stylishness this is not for you. The Sussex ale was very good. We'll be back
Glasses were dirty. We left after a group of regulars started making loud racist, homophobic and transphobic comments, and the staff did nothing.
