Food was delicious! We ordered garlic chilli chicken which was spot on, we loved the hot and soft naans, and ordered a chicken tikka biryani. The biryani was the only item that is a 4 out of 5 for me as there were some fennel seeds in there and when we don't usually use fennel in our biryanis.. maybe it's just a regional thing.. but all in all lovely and I'd definitely recommend this place. We go to a lot of Indian restaurants so you can take our word. My husband and I didn't do a reservation, just called beforehand to make sure there was a table.
Have only ever ordered takeout/delivery from Nibana, have done so for at least two years and keep going backs as broadly have always been delighted with the taste, spice and heat of the dishes. Not every order has been issue free, particularly at busy times, but usually they have done their best to resolve. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and efficient.
Only ever ordered take-out/delivery from Nibana, but food has been consistently good every time. We do get the odd chewy lamb from time to time, but it doesn't happen often. We tried many places in Plymouth but Nibana is easily the best. We used Nibana when our family visit and they say it's the best Indian they ever had!
I have been a frequent customer at Nibana for many years, and I have always been impressed with their consistent high quality of food and service. No matter how many times I visit, the staff always provides great service, making sure that we are well taken care of. The menu offers a wide variety of options and the quality of food is consistently high. I particularly enjoy the taste and variety of their curries and the side dishes, everything is always cooked to perfection and full of flavour. We also always order takeaways from here whenever we want a good dinner at home. Even though I have moved around Plymouth throughout the years, I always make sure to go back to Nibana for their delicious food and great service. I can confidently recommend Nibana to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for a sit-down meal or a take-away, Nibana is the perfect choice.
Just finished an excellent garlic chilli chicken at the Nibana restaurant in Plymouth. Previous reviews views of this dish on Google were not wrong; it was really good. Hot, but not too hot spice-wise, just right for me. Coming from not far from Wolverhampton - one of the curry capitals of the world - this is certainly up there. I travel all around the country sampling curries, and this is certainly on a par with anywhere. Give it a try. I am staying in the Futures Inn on business, which is only 15 mins walk away, so a good alternative for a super evening meal. Oh, and by the way, the sheek kebab starter wasn't bad either. And a couple of pints of Cobra washed it all down nicely. Cheers, Graham from Shropshire.
The restaurant has very good ambience, prompt service and good quality of ingredients. The taste of curries is good too. Unfortunately most main dishes have heavy added sugar, which is definitely not authentic Indian. I request the Management to address this and then Nibana would earn full 5 stars!
Good service but food not as delicious as it used to be. Still tasty but just not the best we've had.
A very popular curry house and I can see why. We visited on a Saturday evening booking 2 weeks in advance for 3. Great atmosphere, good quality ingredients, prepared and presented in a prompt manner. Of course the cobra was well chilled and good to see large bottles available. Staff are very attentive but not imposing. We will definitely use again when visiting Plymouth.
Mixed review to be honest. Food tasted nice and I couldn't fault it. Waiters were lovely and very attentive. Problem being the banquet deal wasn't clear. The menu clearly from what I and others could see stated a poppadom&onion dips for the table a choice of an appetiser, a choice of a main, a choice of a nan and a rice. The menu didn't state anywhere that the choice was between a rice or a nann. Maybe just my opinion but rice should be standard with a curry main meal not an extra. We had already ordered so had to pay extra for the nann which at £3.50 each unexpectedly wasn't the best of surprises. Overall nice experience but overall price was to much for what it was "portions weren't that big, I don't eat a great deal but less ingredients are less cost". Maybe change your menus up a little and i maybe back in the future!
We went for a nice evening out. I would rather have cooked myself. We went on a banquet night - no banquets menu on the table, we were given just standard menus until hubby asked. Beware when you do get the banquet menu….everything leads you to believe that you get a rice AND a bread but you don’t, also the banquet dishes aren’t full menu dishes, the more expensive bits are left off. Poppadums fine but the bits with them were odd, peppers, onions, mango chutney and the strangest raita. Special starter - so hot with Birds Eye chillies that it was inedible. The tandoori starter was decent though. One main was a vegetable balti….bland doesn’t even start to cover it, no flavour to speak off, no tomatoes or freshness and so incredibly sweet. Swapping meat for vegetables we expected peppers/cauliflower/aubergine/potatoes or similar…what we had was one very small piece of broccoli and two small potato chunks…the rest was just onions and sauce. The naan’s fitted on to a rice plate - no more than 6in around and so thin that they snapped rather than tore when they were bent. The upshot is that we won’t be back, it was poor value and very poor food
