Went in to buy The Sun today as it has a £10 Lidl voucher inside. I don’t normally buy that rag so didn’t know how much it was. I just had 50p but it was 60p. I asked if they could let me off 10p and they said no. I said I’d come back tomorrow with the outstanding 10p and they still said no, saying “we don’t know who you are”. So I showed them my staff badge for the college I work at close-by and they still said no, saying “we’re not a charity”. Utterly pathetic. After everything we’ve all been through in 2020 this is how they treat people. Over 10p! Disgraceful.
I use this newsagent on a regular basis to buy my lottery tickets and the chaps behind the counter are always polite, friendly and welcoming.
