Lovely building and has so many floors with different purposes on each floor. The bottom floor has a great part if you need to study quietly and privately, which is good for students. This place is great if you need to kill time too because you can find a book and sit in one of the many seats they have. There are different seating, like more casual if you would like to do casual reading for fun or seats and tables if you need to read and study at the same time. Very useful a relaxing place in general.
It is so interesting too! Especially the top floor! Pop in to find out more!

Good range of books and the play area is v nice for the little one. Building is also well designed with nice range of souvenirs. Staff are hit and miss, w some lovely helpful ladies on the ground floor, but some of the male staff (esp the bald chap with glasses) act quite oddly and could do with being told not to eye up women on their own!
Also concerned over safety esp on the ground floor. The library is clearly used as home for the homeless and those w nowhere to go, the smell can be very off putting, but they also sometimes act aggressively or start shouting or being loud with staff turning a blind eye I'm afraid. I wouldn't let my daughter study on her own tbh

I would highly recommend the top floor to do your own work and study. It offers brilliant city view and the quietness moments maximize your productivity. A second best choice while you want sometimes want to get away from the busy school/ university library.

Very nice and modern library in the centre of Newcastle, with a huge selection of books, a large amount of seating and study space, excellent views from the upper floors, and a nice café as well. This has everything I want in a library.
The modern building is quite attractive and welcoming, with a very open and spacious lobby. There is a glass lift, which offers a pretty exciting ride to the upper floors, but also nice wide staircases.
As already mentioned, the views from the top are very nice, all the way over Newcastle. There are comfortable seats provided by the window, so you can relax with a book or newspaper and take in the view. The Laing Art Gallery is just across the stree
