It is easy to find and park. The human exit is connected to the Chester Market which is good for meet-up and you can go for a drink and toilet while waiting friends.
A great modern car park close the the shops, cathedral and night life. On entering the car park you find a space but no problem going up higher as there is a lift and stairs with direct access to the market area. On the street level there are plenty of spaces with charging for EV’s and even a secure cage for cyclists to use.nI took a ticket on entry after 6pm but didn’t leave until around 4pm after an overnight stay and it cost £15. You don’t need to go to the ticket machines before leaving. You just pay on exit.nJust one caution, the painted directions on the floor have worn away and I did have an older lady driving the wrong way towards me.
The carpark itself has wide spaces and offers value for money.nnI felt the ev charging let it down as it's supposed to be a destination charger. We arrived at 9am and planned to spend a full day yet had to leave once the car was full due to a 10p per minute overstay fee.nGiven you also have to pay for parking anyway I felt this was unjust as there were plenty of other chargers available.nnThis was also made worse by a council van which was plugged in prior to our arrival yet not charging. I can only assume they get an exemption.nnFor destination charging to work properly they need to remove restrictions like this.
Wondered why a car park popped up for a review, but then it reminded me on how much of a fantastic day we had in Chester!n.nIf you’re coming to Chester, park here, you’ll exit into to inside market, which is amazing, some lovely independent stalls!! And Street Vendor style food places which are also amazing!!n.nGo on, do it!! You’re allowed to spoil ya self!!
Worse car park in chester, whoever designed this layout needs to have a word with themselves! Have tried 3 times now and each time have had to queue for 25mins to exit even when its not particularly busy. Allowing certain bays for extra parking narrows turning corners so free flow of traffic is impeded. Avoid at all costs.
