The car park has a trap to take £100 out of your pocket, be very wary park elsewhere if possible. They switch off the barriers and ticket machines, there are no parking wardens to guide you and assume you are going to look around and find an instruction on a wall somewhere. Don't go without a phone as without a ticket you won't be able to pay. Don't assume like me that you would be able to pay at the exit. A practise a lot of car parks have changed to, making their pay machines redundant. I would like to know how many people fall for this trap of not being able to pay when they switched the barriers off so you can just drive out, when you get to the exit with cars behind you you cant go back.They will have your registration. It's all set up to trick £100 from you instead of being happy with £2 an hour parking. The place is run down as well. I will never park there again. Be WARNED!nJust an update 5th Nov 2024 after I appealed they turned it down within two hours so I paid the £60. JUST had a follow up letter with a £100 fine! Of course one I won't be paying. The company running this car park are not fit for purpose! The owners of the shopping mall need to run it themselves. I spent over £500 in the shops but never again.
We work as support workers for very vulnerable people we had been on a day out shopping, when returning to pay for our parking the machines wouldn't work to take payments, no one could tell us how to pay for parking. We were fined £60 this is vulnerable learning disability people. We are doing a thankless job under paid and have had to fork out fines from our wages. Absolutely disgusting
The car park was generally satisfactory, with convenient access to the shopping centre. However, the parking charges felt excessive, as I was charged £4 for 55 minutes, despite signage indicating rates of £2-£3 per hour. This discrepancy could be misleading for visitors. Additionally, pedestrian access to and from the car park could be improved, as there is no dedicated walkway, requiring pedestrians to navigate through areas with oncoming vehicles. 5/10rating.
Absolute rip off of a car park! Only parked here as we stayed at a local Travelodge. The car park has a 'night rate' of £4 from 6pm to 2am, however nowhere does it say you have to vacate before 2am.. I assumed you just had to park between those hours! As we didnt vacate before 2am.. and stayed more than 3 hours we then got an additonal fee of £10! Pure robbery! £14 to park for approx 16 hours !! I have submitted a complaint - please be aware!
As others have put, another customer lost permanently for an unfair £60 fine. Assumed because most parking is free in the evening in Chester that their barriers being permanently up meant it was free at that time as I couldn't find their operating time signs anywhere. Also found it dangerous walking two young children up and down ramps through traffic looking for signs/pay machines that seemed to only be on one level. It's free to park in the street after 6 so won't be trusting any parking lot again.
