A great place to stay. Hospitality excellent, A large group of us were attending a funeral nearby. The service and respect for out situation was superb.. Toleration was given to our singing not good for the average persons ears .. Thr locals loved it.Rooms: 5/5
Pretty mediocre food. My mixed grill tasted like it had been cooked earlier and then warmed up. The steak was cold, the chicken was sweaty and the sausage was mushy. Would not recommend.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom was nice but the shower head didn't look very good ,good value for money,a big bed and TV,I would not recommend staying in room one as the staff was outside talking at 11.50pm which woke me up,a car was parked near the window ,beeped several times not considerate to anyone else in the hotel and then I was woken up by staff again between 8-9 am talking, even though its not particularly early I didnt appreciate hearing a woman staff member talking loudly outside by the bedroom window when I like to have a lie in.
I only give it two stars because of the breakfast was bad for what I paid and I left my usb cable in the room when I check out the usb cable cost me £45 it was a usb magnetic charging cable, and asked for it back and got told it never got handed in so there for one of the people that clean the room had it and took it home, so if you leave anything in the hotel you will not get it back. Nice when people take other people things when they are at work no respect
Food very good would eat there again not good if you can't climb stairs as you need to get to the restaurant from the hotelalthough there was not many I found it hard unfortunately the disabled ramp is outside not good when it's raining
We stayed at the New Inn following an event in Cardiff and were really impressed! The staff were lovely, the room was spacious and spotless, and the hotel manager allowed us to collect our key prior to official check in time as we were unlikely to be back at the hotel by 11pm which is when the desk closes, although support is still available in an emergency via phone.
Great value for money, with a warm welcome very clean accommodation. You could see staff took pride in their work as they cleaned and made up rooms. And never fell short of acknowledging and greeting guests. Staff were so friendly and helpful, making it impossible to stay elsewhere when we return to Wales. Just a little further from central cardiff than we had anticipated but beautiful countryside location. We got to meet the Hotel manager during breakfast, and impressed on how he ensured everyone was happy and well taken care of. Just genuinely interested in his guests, you could see and feel positivity and rippling through all staff. Wish I'd asked for his and staff names. Well done you all. See you soon!
Rooms were really nice, bed a bit hard. Pub very tired and in need of refurbishing. Pub closes at 9.30pm! Great people.Rooms: 4/5
Stopped in on the way to cardiff for some food. The food took over an hour whilst it wasn’t very busy at all. After chasing up the food, it came 10 minutes later and was one of the worst meals I’ve ever head. I ordered a mixed grill that was clearly all re-cooked. Steak was fine, gammon was okay but everything else was inedible. Credit where it’s due, after making the waiter aware, he offered to fix the issue there and then but as at this point I was in a rush I said not to worry.
I have been here twice in the last 3 weeks, both times for the soft-play and for food. The first visit, the service was very good in the soft-play, but terrible in the restaurant area. When trying to pay in the restaurant for food with our summer pass for 10% off food, the server told us we couldn't use it in the restaurant and had to sit in the soft-play area to use it. Another staff member later told us we could use it anywhere in the building. The food for the first visit was terrible. Steaks that were ordered as medium-rare came out very well-done. Half the food ordered was cold and was left uneaten. The second visit we visited for breakfast. As we have kids, we tried to sit near the TV's and were greatest with a very rude "where are you going?" from the manager of all people. We were told only hotel guests can sit in that area. This area was completely empty and stayed that way our entire visit. The food when it arrived was missing sausages from the child's breakfast, which I had to hunt down someone to fix. Then we realised that the toast from the "mega breakfast" was missing. Again we had to hunt down someone to fix. We also asked for brown sauce that never arrived. We were not once asked if our food was ok or if we needed anything. For the entire meal we were waving away fly's from our food. The food was terrible again. The bacon and sausages tasted pre-cooked and warmed up. The beans were cold. The eggs were under-cooked. Overall a bad experience. After our meals we went to the soft-play area to find it unattended. We went for the third hunt of our visit and found no-one to serve us and we eventually let ourselves in. Overall, the service was terrible in the restaurant area, but good in the soft-play area. The food was terrible both times. Will not be coming again and would not recommend.
