Absolutely appealing service. Booked appointment 3 weeks ago, just to receive a text message, on the day, 1 hour before appointment about it's cancellation. I've called for them to reschedule,as per message, but has been told the earliest one they have is in over 2 weeks! And it was already rescheduled once before. Receptionist wasn't apologetic at all, with the proper attitude and told me I can either take it or leave it. I've already taken 2 days off at work, for appointments to be cancelled. And noone is able to assure me that next one will go ahead. Not to even mention that you can barely book anything there nowadays,at least you'll call at 8am, but noone is answering anyway. Pointless.
Sorry to say this service has deteriorated since the pandemic lockdown. Things were actually better then! Can't get an appointment. Apparently can no longer book a nurse appointment, has to be on-day, at 8am. Joke. What about people who work nights/shifts.? Haven't even authorised my medication despite thd fact I requested it a week ago via an online system which usually is fine. Didn't even organise the correct blood tests for my annual review. Are now moaning at me to make appointments that are ALREADY completed or booked. Receptionists are Not and never were Triage. They are gatekeepers though. Very angry. Increasing my blood pressure which is already at stroke-risk. Lack of proper care for my diabetes, ended up with me as an A&E admission in the summer. Almost 2 weeks in hospital. I nearly died.
When I first moved to the area 10 years ago I was impressed with New Court. However in recent times the level of service has dropped to a totally unnaceptable level. I am writing this whilst my phone is ringing for an urgent follow up appointment, as requested by a Dr six days ago. I got in the phone queue at 08:00 with the current repetetive 'We will answer your call as soon as possible Etc Etc'. it is 08:53!!!WHEN!! i manage to get past the receptionist stage to see a professional the GP/Nurses are as always very professional but Im afraid the first customer facing level and appointment allocation is the very worst I have ever seen. We like a good many of New Court patients live outside of the town, however I have been told on many occasions there is a queue first thing in the morning to get the 'Urgent appointments' which appears to favouring the locals, A postcode NHS system ?? currently 09:05 having just been to make a cup of tea whilst waing, still ringing!!!. appalling service to the community.
Since pandemic, like others have said, it's a waste of time attempting to contact. They've sent text messages about how important it is to get kids seen if needed, and I've had letters about cervical screening and mid 40s check up to book in and yet we can't make advance appointments only emergency same day... IF YOU'RE LUCKY. I don't understand it?
Incredible service from both Dr Missen and the receptionist even under the current pressures. I had a same day appointment and was quickly diagnosed and prescribed eye drops and antibiotics. Even though the pharmacy let me down, between the team at Newcourt they managed to get me a slight variation which was in stock. Thank you team!
Using my husbands account to say thank you! Always such kindness and care provided by the doctors and nurses. An excellent team, I feel lucky to have such a wonderful local Doctors surgery.
From my original appointment I was treated in-house just a few weeks later by Dr Marshall and Nurse Practitioner Charlie Bartle. All I can say is that they were fantastic in the way they cared and treated me. Thank you so much for your professionalism and kindness..
Awful surgery, might as well not exist anymore due to the lack of any health care service they provide to people these days. No wonder A&E's in the local hospitals are overwhelmed. People simply have no alternative to get any sort of care. Ignorant, arrogant receptionists give the answer for everything as take your chances competing with everyone else on the phone at 8am the next morning.to try and book an appointment, even when you are doing something as simple as trying to just get test results. Of course even if you do phone the appointments are normally gone in the first 5 minutes. A recent huge increase in our NI contributions was supposed to get the NHS back on an even keel after the pandemic. Where is this money going?
Apalling system of obtaining an appointment. Phone at 8 am. haha you will be lucky to get through. I can understand the system to phone first thing in the morning for an appointment on that day if there is one available. But the curious one is; I am told that we all must phone on Monday 's for all appointments during the week. So, if on Wednesday I need to see a Doctor it's a no go situation; either phone each morning at 8 and seldom get any joy. even if you get through there's no appointments available for about 4 - 6 weeks or wait until the following Monday and hope you get through before all the bookings are taken. You can't win and it makes no sense. After spending 11 hours at A & E Saturday night, no sleep at all, monitors all night long etc., discharged and instructed to see my doctor for heart medications etc. So Monday, today; I start phone at 8 a.m. at 9.30 I walk to the surgery walking is very difficult for me. I ask if report from hospital is through and if so I need an appointment to discuss medication and prescription that I apparently need. Ha, ha, ha, its funny if it wast so flipping stressful. I am told, no appointments available. Try tomorrow at 8 a.m. and so the circus will continues. She says she can see the report from the hospital has been received but there is nothing she can do. I tell her any doctor I don't care who. Once again I am told to ring at 8 tomorrow. So I shall get on the phone tomorrow at 8 a.m. and continue with this circus. Dealing with this sort of situation and guidelines laid down by who knows who is just so stressful. I am not blaming the staff, they do what they can within the limits of an uncaring system obviously founded by someone who has no idea of the needs of patients - At 84 I have never ever encountered such a stressful interaction with a doctors surgery. I never use a doctor unless really necessary but been there done that many times with this surgery. My stories are boring but really bad outcomes each time and I have given up and doctored myself or resorted to private consultations at The Ridgeway. This time I can't because it involves my heart. By the way, twice I have managed to get an appointment and not been checked in. Waited patiently for an hour before going back to reception to find out what's happened! Was told "oh dear........ As for the 10 minute rule it is hideous when you see a doctor that you have never met before, so we end up with 3 minutes talk and 7 minutes of typing. One feels so unimportant and at 9 minutes you can see the doc is ready to turf you out - this is not imagination, this is how I have experience appointments during the past year or. so.
Cannot get an appointment. Having previously lived in Swindon and Oxfordshire I never had this problem with a GP surgery until I moved to RWB and registered with New Court. GWH Urgent Care is overwhelmed at the moment but there is no other option if your GP surgery is New Court. There is no point in being registered with them as they provide zero service. Complete waste of my tax money.
