Possibly the most impressive house I have ever been to. The building itself is mindblowing and the volunteers know so much about the property and its history. There are some downstairs sections at the start but quite a few stairs are involved and there was no sign of a lift. I don't know if dogs are allowed inside the house, but there are ample gardens to explore and plenty of walking space on top of that.
An outstanding historical house and gardens with informative tour and very good facilities including cafe. Enjoyable through all seasons. Combining the walking trails south of the entrance with the gardens offers a couple of hours of walking with plenty of interesting heritage and natural beauty features. It’s worth walking up to the Temple of the Winds to take in the Strangford Lough views.
Visited 31/12/2022 using family membership highly recommend, great value. Lots of parking car park 1 & 2, car park 1 has child spaces and disabled parking too. lots of accessible, well maintained paths, great for bringing little ones . Lots of people walking dogs and water stations for dogs at locations around the site. Cafe is at the visitor centre along with the gift shop and good seating including wall bench for the cafe including outdoor. Great national trust site and highly recommend a visit
Gorgeous surroundings for a walk, there's multiple to choose from. Cafe has just been refurbished and has a good selection and not too expensive. The main house is worth a look round, absolutely stunning inside. Covid measures are in place throughout. Parking can get quite busy, not nearly enough parent and child spaces.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The walks are relaxing, nature, and scenery Beautiful, You can sit down at the coffee shop just outside after a long walk. Interesting history of that place really. If you are around Bangor, please go visit the place preferably go in the morning as you can spent almost the day to see most of the place.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Northernirelandholidays visited Mount Stewart to see the world famous gardens, which are voted in the top ten gardens in the world. Because of the location which is protected by warmer water of Strangford Lough there are plants from all over the world as they are able to grow here. There are 70 acres of gardens where you will find all sorts of beautiful and exotic plants and trees. Today we just visited the gardens but you can also visit the house and take a guided tour. Whatever you decide you will not be disappointed, it’s truly a beautiful place to be. Take your own picnic and book and just sit by the lake or in the gardens.
One of the best gardens on the British Isles. Easy access, good toilets, lovely tea-room and kiosk, very friendly staff. Perfect destination for a great day out. I love it
Beautiful place to visit, had a lovely day out with the family, my mum throughly enjoyed the house tour given by Paul and very much enjoyed visiting all the gardens, the rose garden was amazing and smelt lovely, the lake walk also lovely and gave us some fantastic photo opportunities. Would most certainly recommend to anyone to visit this hidden gem.
Staff were so helpful showing us maps and ideas of where to go on our visit. Sadly the main house was closed but there was still lots to see. Coffee shop had gorgeous carrot cake and coffee on offer. Will definitely be back. The views are stunning, even the drive to get there!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
We came for a holiday from London and was recommended by some local friends to come here, we found it is totally worth visiting, the venue was on the seaside with beautiful views. The little ones enjoyed their ice lollies in the beautifully decorated tea room.
