Our most visited NT place, great for kids on bikes or scooters whatever the weather, good playground areas and a maze. Picnic areas everywhere whether official set zones or just sit down under a tree. Gets very very busy in good weather or holidays. Good range of food in restaurant/cafe although not cheap. Decent coffee most of the time. Large areas to walk around, interesting history, well maintained gardens.

This is a really great place to visit. If you like walking, there are some very pleasant woodland walks and these connect up nicely with the walks through the formal gardens. The formal gardens themselves make for an excellent visit, and inc!use a very attractive oriental garden. To burn off the little one's energy, they have a maze that will keep them amused for a while and it is good fun for the not so young too. The house, though a hotel, and famous for its role as a setting for the Profumo Affair Scandal of the sixties, does have limited tours. There are several options for refreshments, and the usual National Trust style gift shop.

Outstanding, the grounds are Brazil and a great place to spend a day. There is more to do than you can hope to cover in a single day. I went with my niece and nephew (6+8) and was a little concerned that they would get bored but there was so much to keep them entertained they loved it as much as we did. Highly recommended.

First visit there since we moved to the UK. Gorgeous grounds and lovely facilities. We didn’t go inside the house so I can’t say anything about the inside, but the building is well maintained like the gardens. There are many paths to stroll along through woods and the river, up and down hills. There’s also a children’s play area and a Japanese Water garden. Just gorgeous! Well worth the National Trust Membership all by itself.

A lovely National Trust gardens and woodland walk. So many different places to see. A walk through woodlands or through one of 3 gardens. Or even a stroll along the river. All the usual tea and cake of a NT place. Well worth a visit.
