The National Express Coaches station in Birmingham is where we boarded and arrived on our coach. The waiting area has plenty of seats, and the whole place is clean and tidy. Feeling hungry or thirsty? No problem! There are two cafés and a convenience store where you can grab a bite to eat or a drink. The staff are friendly and helpful. Just a heads up—you’ll need 30p to use the toilet.
The Birmingham one = The worst customer service you will find from the information desk.. employees lack professionalism and politeness. You feel like they are gang members who make you feel like you are begging them.
Clean Good waiting area 30 Min free car parking
National Express Customer Service Saved the Day Amidst Ryanair's Incompetence Booking a flight with Ryanair was already a risk, but this experience has been nothing short of disastrous, though one bright spot did emerge thanks to National Express. I booked a flight for my wife on November 16th from Stansted to Krakow, alongside an OPEN return coach ticket with National Express. This is a route I’ve taken several times before without issue—until Ryanair decided to make a complete mess of it. Ryanair sent the wrong details to National Express, resulting in a return ticket on the same day instead of the OPEN return I had requested. National Express confirmed this was a mistake on Ryanair’s part, and Ryanair admitted to the error when I contacted them. Yet, despite being the cause of the problem, Ryanair refused to take responsibility or offer a solution, instead pushing me to contact National Express, who, understandably, couldn’t help since the issue was Ryanair’s fault. However, in the midst of this chaos, Sarah from National Express went above and beyond. She kindly agreed to issue a new return coach ticket for my wife, acknowledging the incompetence displayed by Ryanair. She even informed me that hundreds of customers have faced the same issue when purchasing National Express tickets via the Ryanair booking system alongside their flight tickets. I would strongly recommend that anyone looking to book a National Express coach ticket purchase directly through their official website, as Ryanair’s system is clearly unreliable. I am extremely grateful for Sarah’s professionalism and support, which truly stood in stark contrast to Ryanair’s appalling service. Thank you again, Sarah, for your help in resolving this issue. Ryanair, on the other hand, has left me thoroughly disillusioned with their complete lack of accountability and customer care. I will never trust Ryanair with my travel arrangements again.
I had returned from a long flight to the UK, and was booked to catch the National Express coach from Manchester Airport to Birmingham Digbeth at 4.25pm on 22/10/2024. However, the coach driver Aaron kindly allowed me to catch the earlier coach at 2pm to Birmingham without paying any additional booking charge. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the coach driver Aaron for providing such excellent customer care and service.
The newly refurbished coach station is well equipped with many seats. Clean and tidy. There are two cafes which are also very favourable to the visitors. However, the toilet need 30p to enter. It is not just the problem of money but is very inconvenient if you are in urgent needs. Besides, outside the bus station, like many parts of the city, there are really hard to walk construction work site of the tram rail. It is currently super difficulty if you cannot walk well. It will be better if there is a temporary free connecting bus from the coach station to the city centre, say the train stations, for the needy. Surely it is difficult to arrange because there are always super exhausting traffic jams at the city centre, especially during the rush hour. Therefore, be prepared extra enough time to walk in the extra path along construction site if you go by the coach.
I don't normally leave reviews like this but recently national express coaches have not been good, especially the service between Nottingham and Birmingham. Every single time I have took this service and back the coach has been delayed by an hour. Additionally the fact that you must pay to use the toilet facility in the Birmingham coach station is crazy to me. I am actually going to have to pay the extra for the train instead as I value my time much more than the couple quid saved getting the coach.
On July 3rd, while checking in for my London-Milan flight, I opted to include the National Express coach service from Paddington Station to Stansted Airport through the Ryanair website. An hour later, I received a ticket via email attached, which showed the date as June 25th. This meant I received an expired ticket, making it impossible for me to use the coach service. Additionally, the ticket date corresponded to my arrival flight, which makes no sense since I purchased the ticket on the day of my return flight. I contacted National Express by phone, thinking this would be an easy issue to resolve, but was informed that the correct information should have been sent by Ryanair. Subsequently, I contacted Ryanair, who told me the date was correct, and then National Express again, and so on. Both companies kept passing the responsibility to each other. Additionally, I could not access or manage the ticket on the National Express website as the code was not recognized. Consequently, I was unable to take the bus and had to opt for an alternative route, resulting in an express train that cost me more than twice as much. After reaching out again via email, I received a clumsy response stating that I could not get a refund for expired tickets. It's disappointing and disrespectful and non sense that the company fails to acknowledge they sent me a ticket for a date 8 days prior.
We went to Blackpool to see Daniel o'donnell concert back in October 2023 brilliant driver's keeping you informed of the trip and delays wish I could remember there names both inwards and outwards however my only moan is the journey needs to be direct no going to Manchester as its takes to much time please put a direct coach on plus we also got good seats always a plus plus many places to go past including Bolton wanders fc keep up the good work
One of my many ways to get into Luton Bedfordshire back in 2005. Meet some very interesting people on the daily travels
