I can’t thank Sharon and her staff enough for making my wedding disaster into a fairytale. After being left devastated after Bridal Oasis ruined my dress Sharon offered to help fix the mistakes they had made. Because they had messed up so badly I had no option than to buy a new dress, with only 8 days to go Sharon worked around the clock to help get my dress ready and it couldn’t have been more perfect for me - I’m just upset I can’t wear it everyday!! I cannot recommend this shop enough - she was honest, friendly and more importantly down to Earth, I felt completely at ease and enjoyed going for my fittings. I will forever be grateful for making my day special Kelly xx
Staff helpful and friendly, really good service. They can custom make a dress to your spec for same price as off-the-peg. I bought a bridesmaids dress, totally gorgeous and they accommodated all my requests during fitting, making me feel secure and beautiful in it. It was in the sale but would have been £200 full price, which would still have been well worth it! They also had a woman who made bridesmaids' corsages for me. Atmosphere is very calm and relaxed but you can tell they are perfectionists about what they do. They also adjusted a dress I brought in at low cost. I live in the York area so have to travel, but would still use this shop again, for sure.
I didn't buy my dress from here but got highly recommend to bring here for alterations took my dress to them in April rung end of August to see when i could go in start the alterations to be told its not until October they'll get me in mid September! A lot needed doing as was a long dress with a long train being made into a knee length dress. Went in in September all seemed great at first 3rd time i could of cried!! They'd ruined the dress looked like they just cut it with scissor and was rushed. Luckily my mum and sister was with me for my final fitting the both stood there and looked in disgust it was jagged all around the bottom like a child had done this. An hour and half i stood there while they tried to correct this, blamed another staff member who had left surely youd check a dress before showing a customer there finished dress?? Anyway after standing for a lonf time they did all they could but couldnt do much without making it worse still was charged the full amount for the alterations. I didnt feel great even on my wedding day in that dress knowing it was still bodged but a week before the wedding nothing i could of done apart from find a new dress! Which i disnt have the time nor the funds for!! Two stars is being nice in my eyes. Ive told the dresa shop i brought my dress from they was disgusted and apologised and won't be recommending them again!
Bridesmaid Dress Zip broke less than two hours into the day, 12 year old girl had to sit through the meal and speech's with pins holding it together. A seamstress did eventually come out and sew her into the dress but at this sensitive age the embarrasment had already taken some of the shine of her being her uncle and Aunts bridesmaid. I have contacted the shop today 3 days after the wedding to say I will be comimg to see them for a refund as I do not believe the dress was fit for purpose as it did not last the whole day. Consumer Rights Act 2015 One of the managers has told me they will not give me a refund but will fix the zip What purpose this will serve now I do not know I told her as the dresses purpose was for my Grandaughter to be a beautiful happy bridesmaid at my step sons wedding. The dress was unzipped by myself to let her cool down as it was an extremely hot day and when refastened the zip teeth came apart. The lady in question told me Her EXACT words you can argue with me until the cows come home but you will not be getting a refund. I will be taking this matter further and will be contacting the financial ombudsmen in due course. August 2016 To The owner, firstly I do not use abusive language secondly I did not call you or any of your staff a liar, I raised my voice when you told me the bridesmaid had been taken out of the dress at the reception and I said she most definately had not, you then said the brides mother had been in and told you this I then said well she is then telling a lie as I can assure you she was not taken out of the dress. The photographs you speak of were taken prior to the zip breaking which was after the service and photgraphs but before the meal and speeches, no more than one and a half hours after the dress was zipped up by the brides mother. As for your remark as to whom zipped the dress up in the shop your assistant was present when the dress was zipped, as was I the dress zipped fine. The brides mother zipped the dress on the day of the wedding it was fine? what this has to do with the zip failing at the wedding I do not know. I phoned your staff as soon as the zip broke and asked for someone to come out with a sewing machine and put in new zip I was told this could not be done as the shop were not insured to bring out a machine. The bride and other bridesmaids did have a lovely day they were not embarrassed or upset that their dress zip failed but a 12 year old girl was ,and my Grandaughters day as a bridesmaid for her uncle and Aunt was utterly spoilt. I have sent you a letter by registered post in regard to my complaint and asked for you to reply within 14 days as required by the consumer rights act and so far have you have not done so, therefore I will be taking this matter further.
