Story

Nailsea Electrical is the largest independent retailer of electrical appliances in Bristol.

The company was first established by Peter Gilks in a retail shop in Nailsea just outside Bristol in 1982. A few years later, Peter opened a second shop in Bristol on the Gloucester Road and in 1988 was crowned HTV’s Young Businessman of the Year.

Nailsea Electrical is still family-owned but now run by father and son, Peter and Ben, from prestigious 8,000 square foot showrooms with a warehouse on site on the Gloucester Road. They employ a 13-strong support team, including three other members of the Gilks clan, and have been shortlisted for the Independent Electrical Retailer of the Year 2011, to be announced in September

Really impressed with NE Appliances. I bought a few items for our kitchen refit and they gave me a very competitive bundle price. I then had to change one item after delivery reasons beyond my control and they were really accommodating when many firms would have said 'tough'. I will use them again in the future.

Absolutely terrible customer service, will not use them again! Recently selected them to purchase a fridge as it was a difficult to find size and I expected a local retailer to provide good customer service. When the fridge did not arrive on the day confirmed I called them only to find a very unsympathetic gentleman on the other side. He did not even offer an apology about being late or not keeping me informed about the status of my delivery. The delivery date was shifted to 4 days later and I was promised that I would be kept updated. However, again the fridge did not arrive and again no one kept me updated. After not being able to get through on the phone someone finally responded by email and the delivery was shifted again. The fridge finally arrived, now 1.5 weeks after the original confirmed delivery date. To top everything it arrived damaged! I informed them about this but it's been almost two weeks now and still no response. Recently had a much better customer service experience using Curry's.

Don't normally write reviews but on this occasion I felt I needed to. Excellent service from ordering to to delivery and installation. The cooker I bought was competitively priced. Slight hiccup with the delivery date which was sorted with one very short phone call with Samantha. The delivery drivers were capable, polite and professional. Couldn't recommend enough. Will be my first port of call from now when I need anything electrical.

Fantastic service from sale to delivery. Ordered Thursday,  delivered Monday, very pleasant sales lady Jess and lovely delivery guys. Can't recommend highly enough.  Very grateful customer.

Have been going to this store for over 20 years now. They've lots of good quality brands available at reasonable prices. Excellent customer service support.

Really bad experience after waiting for a delivery that I booked over a month ago. I bought Neff Extractor Hood from this company over a month in advance of my Kitchen Install, and it was on a reduced price - money was successfully deducted from my account immediately via PayPal. After 5 days past the delivery date I called them asking from item and was told that one of their director was supposed to call me by now and explain the reasons; however, no one called me. I was then told that PayPal seems to have blocked payment to this company suspecting a fraudulent transaction so basically they haven’t received payment from me.  I then called PayPal and asked them, PayPal confirmed that there were no issues with transaction both at my end and neither they had withheld the payment from merchant. I then raised a dispute with PayPal for non-delivery of item and asked to intervene. I also asked this company to refund me ASAP.  I got the refund; however, their claim that they hadn’t received money from PayPal seems weak as how did they issue a refund when they hadn’t received payment?  They left me in a situation 2 days before my kitchen install where I don’t have an extractor hood now.  Be careful of this company as their communications are zero to none and I suspect they just didn’t want to deliver the item as it’s gone back to full price. Will never buy from them again.

Bought a Siemens integrated fridge at the Hengrove showroom on Friday and it was installed at 0900 on Monday. The installers, Andy and Terry, were fast, tidy and efficient. Purchase price was good too, so can't be faulted.

Awful customer service. Our fridge freezer arrived faulty in July and we still haven’t had it fixed 4 months on. I have had to contact the supplier directly to try and sort this myself and NE appliances have stopped replying to emails regarding their complaints procedure. Avoid if possible.

Having had an awful experience with Currys!! NE were a breath of fresh air, brilliant company to deal with great customer service  and delivery exactly as said. Andy and Curtis who delivered my washing machine were extremely helpful nothing was too much trouble, nice friendly, cheerful guys.

Bought a electric cooker from NE Appliances a month ago Rangemaster CLA60EIBL/C.  NE Appliances were very helpful in store. The cooker arrived with some damage from transit, and NE Appliances' customer service team were brilliant.  The cooker is excellent responsive, cooks very well, best cooked I've ever used.  Would highly recommend both NE Appliances and the cooker.
