Wandered into this pub on a trip out and so glad we did! The service and food were absolutely brilliant and my hubby, who is very fussy about steak, loved his huge and well-cooked portion of the 'very well done' steak. If it wasn't so far away, we would be visiting there regularly, but will certainly visit again as soon as we can.
food was terrible, the burger we had was inedible absolutely rock hard. batter on the fish was nice but very greasy and the fish tasted of water. chicken fajita was not nice either the chicken was flat and very tough. maybe i just need sharper teeth eh. had to ask for ketchup 3 times each time being given an empty bottle. even had to ask for sugar for our churros. forgot to mention the pizza that was too hard for our daughter to bite into. perhaps we all need new teeth. think the chef needs to rethink his job. and a very funny waitress who kept trying to sound Mexican. at first we thought it was funny. but after a while tedious...
Pub looked great from the outside, but not such a nice experience on the inside. My diet coke was served in a glass with bright red lipstick clearly on it, when we disturbed the barman who was clearly enjoying his own pint for a fresh glass, he asked if we wanted him to tip the coke into a clean glass or if I wanted a new bottle. My husband's pint was a flat as a pancake, without even the hint of a head. To top it all off there was no paper in the ladies toilet, which any lady will tell you is a nightmare! We voted with our feet, and went to the White Hart pub opposite which was packed for a Saturday afternoon. Clean glasses, good beer, and most importantly toilet paper!
Only went here once but seems a nice place. Drinks aren't over priced and I had a nice potion of chips they tasted great and not to expensive. Is a great place to go with some mates
Food and service was great. I love their fajitas and the brazilian curry was very tasty. I will certainly recommend this place to anyone who wants a charming village pub with a difference.
My partner and i had lunch here and the food was Mexican cuisine. The food was very average and tastless and as for a " Mexican " cuisine i would say Chimichanga wipes the floor with them. Very expensive bill for such average food
Sadly not a patch on what this pub used to be. Pretty much closed and badly run for a while. Not really worth a special visit chances are it will be closed.
Food was lovely, very nice atmosphere will definitely go back again
Lovely food with a Mexican twist. Would not recommend the pizza
Fantastic pint of Abbott ale proper pub,English sense of humour brilliant
