Many establishments think that they serve authentic sushi. Only a few actually understands what real sushi should taste like. This simple dish is one of the hardest to get right, and harder still to master. There was perfect balance and harmony in every piece of nigiri. The sashimi was rich with flavour, but not intrusive. Every maki tasted wholesome, enveloped in the warmth of the lightly toasted nori. And the ikura popped in my mouth like umami bubble wraps : The experience was near spiritual... I may have attained nirvana, if not for my friend who felt ill at ease without a conveyor belt and the scarcity of mayonnaise :
So disappointed... The food was delicious. However, i havent seen such a bad service in years. One of my friends had to wait for almost an hour for his bento box, we asked different waiters for an update with no success. Everything they did was to give a small chocolate treat to our friend as apology and then the rest of us were not asked if we wanted a dessert even though we were sitting at the table for about another hour!! The service is not even close to the standards of a restaurant like this. So so disappointed, i am sure i will not recommend this place to anyone or ever come back. Oh! And there was no toilet paper in the toilets!!
Serves authentic japanese food. Tried the ten don and nabeyaki udon - perfect for the cold weather. And as always, the staff were polite and nice rounding up the perfect dining experience.
Very polite staff, quick and efficient! The menu is varied and annotated well. The food is beautifully presented and tastes amazing.
Absolutely wonderful. Best truly Japanese only menu I have found in a week of restaurant visiting in London 6 so far with a Japanese chef. Side dishes with real fresh vegetables. Friendly staff and quick service. Authentic taste for non-sushi main items. Came back for more twice after first visit!
I liked this place. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and service was quick. I've seen some reviews on here whining about 'authenticity' but I think that's unreasonable given how much they play around with traditional food in Japan. Unless you're a frightful bore and very picky, this is a nice place.
From the smelly sashimi I can certainly tell that the chef is too lazy to get up early to source the freshest seafood, and they can certainly not tell the differences between good avocado and the air-dried ones. The rice is nicely washed but I can tell it's a cheap one. The sake was fine but well I guess it comes in bottles as long as you stick with the brand it can't be wrong can it? Once we got the bill ... Wow! What a good price for all of this ! Bravo! Such a nice restaurant which we will make sure we never come again.
I found the food is ordinary, ingredients are not bad, but the sushi were not even closed to nicely shaped..I feel offended by the quality of the food. A bottle of beer cost 6 pound, four veggie grilled dumplings cost 5.99...plus the 12% compulsory service charge. And there was a small piece of hair on the plate..RIDICULOUS!!
The waitress served chicken dumplings instead of vegetarian and refused to take them off the bill because we ate more than one by mistake. She wasn't deterred by the presence of other guests and asked questions such as 'How many have you eaten?' in a loud voice. Not a nice experience.
Bad experience. The food quality is just average, not authentic at all, while for this price I could get better portion and better quality food from Eat Tokyo. The waiter/supervisor tricked me in getting the miso soup, while I thought it is actually included in the set. I paid £3 for the stupid instant powder soup alone while I could have spent the money on other appetiser. We asked for tap water but at the end we paid for £4.30 for a fancy bottle of Evians, while we expect just free tap water. The waiter could have alerted us in advance that they don't offer free tap water. Really bad experience while I could have spent the money on Eat Tokyo for an always satisfying experience !!!
