what a local gem this is!! One of my favourite places in London. The huge array of food stands and mini restaurants is incredible - and all incredibly good value for money from independent businesses. The upstairs food hall is a lovely place to hang out! Could not recommend this more highly. A melting-pot of cultures, flavours and fun - A truly 'London' experience!
Nag's Head Market in London is a vibrant and bustling hub that never fails to impress. Among its many treasures is Tagine 2 Go, a standout eatery that brings the authentic flavors of Algerian and Moroccan cuisine to the heart of London. The market's lively atmosphere, coupled with the delicious offerings from Tagine 2 Go, makes for an unforgettable experience. Whether you're craving handmade fries, delightful merger sandwiches, or just a taste of something exotic and expertly prepared, this is the place to be. A visit to Nag's Head Market, with a stop at Tagine 2 Go, is a journey into culinary excellence.
Wow check out the face lift to the Nags Head Market. Great place to check chill, get food and drinks. The beach and games room kept the kids happy. The pizza and fried sourdough balls were insanely good 3 day fermented dough. There's plenty to come back for!
What an amazing place we discovered!!! So many amazing little stalls selling literally anything you might need. Also lots of fantastic food stalls - we tried Brazilian, Colombian and Jamaican. Everything was amazing and delicious and very good value. We also bought some of the stunning Filipino bread too which was really good and so unusual. Upstairs is a very different but also interesting looking place which I imagine will be popular in the evenings or weekdays.
I love this market is full of different traders from so many places such as Caribbean,Ethiopian, Philippine, Chinese, Colombian and much more food that will blow your mind! It’s not the typical market that everyone knows It’s a bit hidden in terms of not having loads of tourists walking around Trust come to the food court of the market and you will amazed!
Local historic landmark which had reinvented itself in the last 4-5 years. Now features local traders with an emphasis on street food. Also has a fishmonger, butcher, greengrocer and locksmiths which are long standing shops. They have now finished doing up the upper floor with lift access which has a rather cool lounge vibe with street food, wine bar and even meeting rooms for hire. Worth checking out!
Good selection of shops and stalls with plenty of food stalls ranging in different cultural foods from India, the Caribbean and Asia. However not very clean and well kept and can feel claustrophobic when very busy in the market. If it was to be cleaner and more well kept I think many more people I believe would flock to it.
Definitely the working class end of Islington, I have been using it since it opened about twenty years ago after a remodel and two storey carpark was added round the back. I refuse to use the word Eclectic. Excellent large fresh fish shop flanked by a large green grocer at the entrance, and not as frightening as it looks. Not Upper Street, more contemporary London Kazba. Excellent mostly Gluten free Columbian restaurant and many other stalls, catering for the less fortunate among us, me included. The picture I have added is of the shoe repair and key shop, a long time denizen, some twenty-five years. Much cheaper than B&Q, and will usually have them done in no time. I have forgotten his name, so will check it next time I am there and add it later. Now I know the majority of people from South of the Borough would not dream of going there, treat it like an anthropological expedition pretend you are Richard Attenborough try not to gawp with your mouth open. On the working class front; don't worry, they are mostly not white. Nags Head Market, a Dadaist dream writ large, Nigel Farage would probably faint at the site of it. Give it a try.
Many shoppers , however are not rowdy as people stay in the queue in an orderly manner to make payment for items they have selected. It is impressive to see people well organized without being guided by police or military personnel. Farm fresh fruit and crops are also available, with banana, apple, oranges and other fresh fruits from neighboring communities
Had an amazing Ethiopian meal. The host was very friendly. Food was delicious, healthy, and there was plenty of it!. Very reasonably priced too.
