Stopped if on the way to a Gig, very friendly but the food just isn't up to scratch for a restaurant, on par with a home cooked meal at best, had the lamb which was more fat that meat, extremely bland not seasoned at all! One of out group had a steak which looked like a standard supermarket cheap cut of meat. Another had a pizza which again was just plain and flavourless. Only giving the second star for the service!!
Under new ownership. Fantastic refurbishment, really atmospheric. The food is all freshly prepared and cooked by a native Italian chef. The service is also first rate. Absolutely recommended.
We came across this place when looking for somewhere to have a drink before the Checkatrade Trophy final. We opened the door and as Sunderland fans were greeted with a restaurant full of Pompey. They invited us in and were incredibly generous with beers immediately offered. This, to me, says a lot about the guys that own this place and their happiness to allow guests to have their plan. Definitely recommend this place
Horrific! never ever again. Run by Arabic people who were very pleasant but can’t cook Italian food sorry to say! I can’t understand why they have good reviews, it’s baffling me.... we ordered the bolognese and the bruschetta - the most common of Italian foods which my wife and I absolutely love whenever we’re in an Italian! Bolognese tasted like some sort of weird slime with a taste and smell so bad only a critic can describe and the bruschetta was some roughly chopped tomatoes on a manky price of bread and tasted like paper. My 5 year old could have done a better job of it.
The food is realy nice, its the same name but different everything, the owner the staff and the chef.. And of course the quality of the food!!! Realy good!
