A Gem of a museum, with many exhibits of local Welsh life of previous generations.  Great cafe, in a new complex with delightful cakes and light bites.  Good selection of beverages too. Pleasant strolling in the grounds also. Till April a Rembrandt painting is on display.

A good little place. First off FREE, has a little self serve canteen and a good little gift shop. All the staff we met were very friendly and happy to talk about the local area and other places to visit. Museum is over 2 floors and has items from fossils and Roman, to Waterloo and the 50s.

Mainly went to see the Rembrandt painting of Saskia on loan for the month of Jan 2023. Spent no more than 30mins viewing other displays. Garden and park had lots of owners with their dogs. Great Park for Walking ‘Popcorn’ she just loves the squirrels  The museum is undergoing some refurbishments at present 11/2020. I’m looking forward to getting inside once they are completed.

Beautiful building, amazing history, even a modern society axe. Lol. "You shall not pass!!!!" "Oh wait oh hey." "Just kidding about" awesome history, lovely people. Definitely worth a visit. Very friendly staff. Did have more images, but I'm saving them. Hehe. Thanks. Hopefully visit again at some point. : Love the butter turning machines. "And the " just saying that makes me smile for someone.

Have not yet been into the museum but the grounds are stunning. Really well maintained and finished off with a nice coffee and welshcakes in the delightful Stacey's cafe
