Moyse's Hall Museum

About

Museum with variety of collections

Story

For almost a thousand years Moyse's Hall has looked out over the Market Place of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. It has seen many changes since it was built in 1180 and has had a variety of different uses, including a tavern and a 'gaol'. Currently it's a museum which provides an excellent setting in which to trace the unfolding story of West Suffolk, through displays which range from prehistoric times right through to the present. Moyse's Hall's own story is as rich and varied as the collections which it houses.

This place was amazing. When we visited there was science fair on but we ended up seeing the rest of the museum. The children were able to do screen printing, which they loved. Defiantly worth looking in their website to see what is planned.

I loved coming here as a child, I was fascinated by William Corders death mask, the gibbet was bit creepy, when I last visited a year ago it was good to see it was more family friendly.
