Thought of having a day out but felt a bit hungry so we went to Redcar Morrisons.nnGirlfriend had chips scampi and peas with a Pepsi max I had cheese and ham toasted sandwich. The assistant said it’ll take up to 20 minutes but took about 15.nnWe enjoyed the food it was hot tasty and filled a gap until coming back to taste their sweets and another cuppa.
Eye-wateringly expensive for the modest range and quality of the food and drink. Some of it is stuff that can be picked up from the main shop more cheaply. It is a canteen style self-service arrangement but chronically understaffed so there is rarely anyone manning the till when I have been there at least and one has to shout for service. The upside to this is that there's nobody around to stop you getting endless hot chocolate and mocha refills from the coffee machine, if you don't mind how insipid the beverages are. The skeleton staff are usually preparing food in the kitchen or cleaning. Tempting just to take your stuff to the table and let staff chase you for payment, if they even notice.
Always excellent service in store. The staff is very polite friendly and helpful. Everything you need in one store.
A positive visit to this busy bustling cafe . Decked out in the familiar pastel shade chairs and modernised table style . The cafe has the additional screen ordering service which I bypassed to get service . I ordered my meal at the till without any problems and the lady at the till stopped everything and collected my pot of tea ,knife,fork,spoon etc and cleared chairs away from the disabled labelled table . The table was about the best one I have sat at so far ! I was able to slide the front of my chair including my legs under the raised table without banging my legs !! It actually allowed me to eat my food without having to bend for it !! All Morrison should have these . I was given plenty of room too. The fish and chips were hot and tasty a d the service time can’t be faulted considering how busy they were!!
Used to be great value for money despite it's lack of atmosphere and ever changing staff, unfortunately now, their food doesn't justify the wait, or the price. Shame as it used to be popular and busy.
