Love this supermarket if I’m in town. Easy to navigate and some really nice food for the price. Parking is also good.

Ridiculous treatment by a couple of members of miserable jobsworth staff today in-store.nnI have been coming to this store, among others over the past 3 years, even during lockdown, with the company of my parrotlet companion.nnI have never once been stopped and/or told that Morty My Parrotlet was not welcome in-store. He is in a sealed backpack and he does nothing but bring a smile to anyone that sees him.nnToday I was approached while at the checkout and told quite abruptly that he was not allowed in store, I would actually class the interaction as rude.nnI appreciate store policy would be not usually to allow ordinary animals in-store for hygiene reasons ie cats and dogs, for obvious reason.nnThere is zero harm in Morty accompanying me in his sealed backpack, infact he is a positive addition to any place I visit with him.nnIs it because he's not a paying customer?nnIn that case why don't you ban children to?nnTo the lady shop assistant who approached me with the complaint. I think someone needs to give her a hug, she is obviously sad.
The store is utterly stacked in all the wrong areas ..trying to move a trolly around is a nightmare!! The floorplan has not been thought out hard enough by whatever manager is in charge. So as you enter there is a ridiculous gate that stems the flow of everybody right near the sandwiches etc exactly where people like to hover and choose their lunch. Obviously the store attracts much older customers so putting displays/boxes/deals everywhere slows people down and as they like to stop right in the middle of each isle this again is ridiculous. Common sense you would think!!! After all this is Gosport so common sense is extremely rare. Next up is the staff..I initially thought it was run by the NHS when I entered a few years ago for the first time as over half the workforce are oaps I've never seen anything like this in my life. So you have old workers who love to chat and chat and chat ..with old customers who like to chat and chat and chat!! So if your in a rush forget it. And last of all is the pointless security guards who spend all the time at the front door stood at their podium...looking either at the phone or a screen - you never see them patrolling the store? Oh and almost forgot the mens toilet's stick to high heaven as they aren't being cleaned to the required standard..this has been the same for years.nnGood luck
Apart from advertised prices being different once at the checkout. It’s always a pleasure.
