Bought a vehicle that carried a brand new MOT signed off by this MOT centre. Significant handling problems followed. This was traced to a maladjusted steering box, and possibly a worn Pitman arm (still being investigated). More significantly, the rear tyres were badly cracked, bulging slightly, no longer round and were well past their sell-by date. Specifically, they were over 20 years old. When I called the test centre, I was told that they weren't actually illegal on that basis. Nevertheless, I explained that there should have been an advisory note on the certificate. Repeat: an advisory note. I said that I would mention this in a review and was told, "You say anything and I'll sue for libel." Well I've said it. I would not trust this MOT centre. The tyres had to be replaced immediately at a cost of £120. Had I known about this, I might still have bought the vehicle. But not at the asking price. So much for these "professionals".
