Busy place with a long queue of people waiting to be served, not being a patient person my heart sank at the thought of shuffling along for ages but I was surprised at the speed at which the staff moved.... They have it so well organised it's like being on a conveyor belt and we were sat in the car with our meal before we knew it The 'medium' sized fish was huge as was the chip portion and it was lovely. Thin crispy batter and piping hot chips.... What's not to like. I DO recommend this place.

Has been arguably the best chippy in Workington for the past few decades. The chips 9 times out of 10 are perfect, might get a bad batch of spuds if you go all the time.
I order 2 medium Haddock every Tuesday, pick them up and take them to an an elderly couple who I know very well but no longer can go for them their selves. For many years the gentleman himself used to go every Tuesday because they love the fish and chips from there but now due to health reasons carnt, if I can make them happy by picking them up for them then that makes me happy, they have always been like family to me and my children.
really crispy batter and lovely thick large piece of haddock to complement a good sized portion of chips with chip shop style curry just the way I like it. all served with smiles from the staff and if I wasnt in passing at work I'd be making frequent visits. 5* and well deserved

Used to do great chips but the mush that I got tonight wasn't even fit for the dog! Little hint guys - you should be able to pick chips up individually. If I didn't live seven miles away I would have returned the single lump of greasy mess under false advertising!
May be they should use fresh haddock. For Christmas sake how far away we from the sea.. or is it just more cost effective to buy frozen.. poor choice.
