Story

Montrose Dental Care is a friendly, relaxed dental practice centrally located in Montrose.
It was established in 2010 by Dr Lorraine Arnot, a Montrose-based dentist since 2005.

Our friendly and approachable team aim to make your visit to the practice as stress-free as possible. We understand that some patients may be nervous or anxious about visiting the dentist. At Montrose Dental Care we take time to get to know you and discuss any concerns you may have.

We are passionate about preventing dental disease and giving you the information you need to look after your mouth.
We will carry out thorough examinations, taking x-rays when required and discuss a treatment plan and preventive regime tailored to your needs.

We strongly believe that prevention is better than cure.

I was a long term client when Gordon Baxter was the owner. When the practice was taken over I was called in for a check-up with Lakshmi Kanneganti. 

First the dentist asked if I was allergic to latex (yes) to which she asked "how allergic" I was. After pulling the assistant into the corner to whisper, the appointment continued. It was clear the practice was not prepared for this and I was treated with latex gloves. More whispering ensured throughout the appointment which I felt unprofessional and rude.

During the appointment I was given an X-ray and at my next appointment told I needed a filling, which I refused as I wanted a second opinion. Two other members of my family were told the same, despite that all three of us had had no pain. After a second opinion none of us received fillings (and have not to this day). 

Lakshmi Kanneganti appears to have left the practice but the branding remains the same (hence this review). I haven't seen any of the other dentists as I switched immediately after my second opinion, however I would be cautious if recommended a filling here. Unfortunately it is common for dentists to fill imaginary cavities purely for profit.
