Headed here today for lunch. Had the place to ourselves on a Sunday. Small menu but lots of variety and a great option Is 3 dishes and a cocktail for £18. Perfect for sharing just pay for an additional drink. Food was fresh, arrived as it was ready and portions were generous. Korean chicken wings were Delish.
Very enjoyable first visit to Miss Woo's. The dirty fries were great, & Duck Bao was really tasty! They were very short staffed on the day I visited, which resulted in very lengthy wait times, however, the lady who was serving was highly attentive and very apologetic for the delays - Would most certainly visit again!
Absolutely fantastic, Barman was great, welcoming and quick. Two of them, 1 cook and 1 barman, hats off to the chef, the food was brilliant. Especially those chicken wings best I've had in a very long time Barman was quick with drinks, especially making the cocktails. Bao was great light and soft chicken was cooked to perfection. Cant wait to come back to Edinburgh, this will be my first stop!
My family ate here last night. The food was really tasty, the staff were friendly and the service was really good. Our only complaint was the size and price of soft drinks - a tiny can 150ml of diet coke was £2.50 - that is horrendously expensive. We had to order 2 cans each to get 1 glass of juice. We would never have ordered soft drinks if we'd known the price there are no soft drinks prices on any of the menus. So, although the food was good we wouldn't rush back because of the ridiculous markup on juice.
Went to visit on a voucher which was a really great deal, sharing platter and cocktail. Had salt chili fries, veg dumplings and tofu baos. Being veggie there was really only one choice but enjoyed it all. Only had the one cocktail but was really nice G&T style. Visited midweek and was busy enough, service was fine, stuff arrives as it's ready.
Sunday afternoon, so place was empty when we came but soon more people arrived. We have ordered boas, spring rolls, vegan dirty fries and dumplings and oh my.. all was absolutely perfect. One thing we loved was quirky music playing 80s popbut it was more as a exception than the rule.. would love it for longer :-, but definitely recommend for food and beer we didnt try cocktails
Food was unbelievably bad, covered in salt to the point is was unedible. Cocktails were good, only thing good about the place. Not authentic. We were told by the waitress the chef never turned up so the owner was cooking, maybe that has something to do with it. Waitress took 10% off, not enough so complained further and paid for drinks and what my husband ate. Waitress was rude to be honest. Avoid this place if possible. Wee Buddha is far far better.
Miss Woos is not to be missed! A little gem of a place down on the shore. Absolutely amazing value for money, three dishes and a cocktail is more than ample. You will not be disappointed. Especially if you get the honey and coconut fries... oh my word.
The first few times we went here was incredible, everything was perfect. However after a while we ordered some takeaway instead of going on when they became available on just eat, the wings were terrible and small, the sauce majorly burnt. But alas I tried again, this time the wings were again small, but had a odd smell to them.... We went back IN to miss woos after the refurbishment, and again, the wings had a really odd smell to them so much that it had us stop to sniff about as we were a bit confused to what the smell was, it appeared to be the more boned pieces of chicken, they just had a really odd almost unclean? Smell to them, the baos were good however and as always the cocktails were spot on! But unfortunately after a series of bad experiences it looks like our once favourite chicken wing place is on the avoid list due to it being disappointing on several occasions :
So me and my partner had booked a table days in advance and when we turned up on time we were told they had given our table away to a group who called only 30 minutes prior to us arriving. We were then squashed between a couple, and the group of people who had taken our booked seats, that left very little room for anything. The waiting staff didn't use a pen or pad which lead to my partner getting a dish she never ordered, not getting a dish she did order and 2 cocktails never making it back to us. The place felt so over packed and crammed that it seemed to drown out any form of atmoshphere. The food was average and acceptable for the price, but there's many other places that do the same food for the same price, but do it better. As for the cocktails, with a flat rate of £7.50 per cocktail I couldn't help but feel a little cheated when my girlfriends came in a nice big cocktail glass, and mine in what was smaller than a small wine glass. I doubt we will be returning.
