Lovely coffee shop but like most places the prices have gone up considerably but the portions have also gone down and the quality as there wasn't much meat in the pie and what was in it was fatty and full of sinew and gristle. The food was nice and hot and the ladies are polite and efficient but that's not what tempts us in. The lemon meringue is usually amazing but the lemon middle was incredibly firm and didn't have it's usually tangy taste. It's also quite cool in the winter because it isn't double glazed just single glass panes so if you feel the cold take a jumper. Real shame because this place was the last of the best in town. Also card machine is temperamental so best to take cash.
Been here for afternoon tea and it was beautiful and worth the money . I've had a gastric sleeve and can't eat much so they let me order a child's afternoon tea I still couldn't manage it all so I took the rest home. The staff are lovely and polite. Every time a meal was brought out it smelt beautiful infact it smelt that good we ordered some to takeaway . Would definitely recommend
Went here for the first time staff were nice & friendly on arrival ordered BLT sandwich on brown bread & a latte , mrs has quiche & salad , food was really nice & reasonably priced, place was nice clean & tidy , mainly seemed to because older people but would got back & recommended
Went on a Friday afternoon at 12:45 pm, pretty busy, food piping hot, fast friendly efficient service. Reasonable prices. They do accept debit/ credit cards despite what it says on their website. Would definitely recommend it. I will definitely go back again.Food: 5/5
This is an absolute gem! Up the stairs through Eyres furnishings, and you find a coffee shop with the most enormous tasty meringue I have experienced. But.. forgo the meringue, arrive early and have breakfast, fresh, lots of taste and great value. Then, finally, the coffee, yep, it tastes great as well. The service is low key but friendly and great.
Called on recommendation from friends for a breakfast...we were pleasantly surprised with the inside and the warm welcome..my wife and I went for the 6 item breakfast with tea and toast..."wow" it was first class and we didn't leave a crumb! We will definitely call again...full marks all round too the whole team.
Because it's was nice food and drinks. And it's nice place and good price wasn't very expensive, because it's was good quality food and price. So my mum and i was love it every Friday for Grief Meeting people have lost husband and wife and whatever can welcome with us have enjoy for dinner together and Aurora Wellbeing charity Meeting as well. And as well also Christmas dinner and Christmas afternoon tea.
Food excellent. Service excellent. Staff very friendly, helpful and wore masks. Would go again. Thank you.
Fantastic afternoon tea. Best I've ever had, and I've eaten a few! Excellent price £8. Extra tea, coffee, canned pop at no extra charge. Plenty to eat and very good quality & variety. Enjoyed the savoury afternoon tea... delicious
Don't let the dated décor put you off, really nice food and tea. The coffee could be better but really nice. Can be difficult to access with a pram or wheelchair as there are 3-4 mandatory stairs.
