We ate in the private restaurant room. A lovely sized room, big long table for 20 people. We had a very nice meal served by our two personal waiters. A small suggestion would be that the cheese board should be split into 2 cheese boards for each end of the table. We stayed in room 5. A very pleasant room. The self serve breakfast buffet was very nice.
Went on the 9th in the evening for my girlfriends birthday. Food was amazing as always, loving the new squid starter! We had a different member of staff set the cutlery for each course, a young man in his early 20s for the starter, and a taller gentleman in his 30s for the mains, both set the cutlery down piece by piece carefully on our napkins, the young lady who brought cutlery for dessert essentially just dropped them on our napkins with no care stacked on top of each other/upside down. It’s a shame because the gentleman that I paid at the bar was also fantastic and courteous. Considering at 6:30pm there was only 3 tables in the restaurant with 2 people at each it’s disappointing that 1 member of staff, wasn’t up to the same standards as as the rest.
My husband and I had a couple's massage and spent some time relaxing by the pool, it was such a tranquil few hours! The staff were all friendly, my massage was incredible and the venue is picturesque, clean and a real little haven from typical busy life.Service: 4/5
We used Mr G'S for a private function as we have done many times. The Waiter was amazing and the food was excellent. Once again stunning memories made. Food & drinks: Excellent. Although we didn't have breakfast we did walk past the breakfast offer and it looked fantastic.
I’ve eaten here plenty of times for lunch but I have to say it’s really gone down hill. The portion sizes and quality of food for the price is really not very good. I was served a child’s portion for my starter which I had to complain about. Then the main courses side ordered wasn’t correct. Also our friends main was so far behind ours arriving we had to eat or it would be cold. The kitchen is being refurbed so that’s probably causing issues. My advice would be close and get the refurb done. Then you may retain some reputation for good food and service. Complained at the end but the person we spoke to had a look on his face to say it’s been a tough night/ week. £240 bill and I won’t be going back. Try The Cricketers at Eight Ash Green or The Wooden Fender at Ardleigh. Much better quality and prices more reasonable.
Had our christmas meal here in the library which was perfect for upto around 10 people and the food was perfect. Forgot to take photos of the starter but the staff were awesome as always and the food came quickly too. Highly recommend going here to eat.
Went for early Christmas lunch with family. Very good service. But not surprised about increase in prices. Good Location to meet. Food was deliciousService: 5/5
I live very nearby and have visited many many times over the years. I’ve had mostly good experiences but sometimes things have gone a bit wrong here, especially when it gets busy. Saying that I always go back as it’s super easy with the no booking system they have to just turn up and get something pretty decent to eat.
Met friends for Sunday lunch having been here before. We ordered the roast sirloin and when it arrived, it was virtually impossible to cut let alone eat. The rest of the roast was mediocre to say the least with frozen sprouts, a tasteless Yorkshire pudding and very ordinary roast potatoes. When we complained, the young man serving was apologetic and polite but the manager was neither. She insisted that we must be using " the wrong knife" i.e. an ordinary dinner knife which by the way they had supplied! One should not expect to have to use a steak knife for slices of beef. The price for this culinary disaster? £22! After a few heated words we asked for the chicken instead which was better but the rest of the roast was just not good enough. Very disappointed. On bringing the replacement dishes, our waiter apologised again and should be commended for his good manners and attempts at proper customer service hence two stars and not one. It used to be good but I can't see us going back anytime soon.
Went here for a 8am Sunday Breakfast @ £25+. we were the 1st ones in that day but all the food was luke warm! No beans!? No poached or fried eggs!? just a gloopy lump of luke warm scrambled egg... I know your refurbing the Kitchen Milsoms, but this was poor. Only giving 2 stars as I have eaten here before and normally can't fault it.
