Story

We are a charity taking in cats, dogs, rabbits and ferrets. All our animals are neutered and for those who cannot find a home we provide one within our shelter. We also offer advice and support to owners enabling them to keep their pets.

Mission

The Shelter is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in the local area but being financially independent means it is entirely reliant upon local support to help fund its work.

Whenever I find a stray cat that could need help this shelter is always ready to help they’re amazing. I was talking care of a cat in the neighbourhood and noticed she was pregnant so I called the shelter as I won’t be able to care for her and her children and they said they’ll get her by the end of the week then the cat actually gave birth in my shed I phoned them and they told me what to do and said they’ll get the cat asap and they actually got the hat and her two kittens the next day.
Really friendly , knowledgeable staff. All cats look very well looked after and the whole shelter is very clean. 10/10
The team at Millstream are incredible. Second time I've adopted from them and they are exceptional with both their resident cats and the cats up for adoption. Spend the time to make new owners fully informed and ensure the kittens and cats leaving with new owners are with the right people. Would recommend them to everyone I know.
They made there own decision on neturing my cat and took two kitten of her she is depressed everywhere she kept them she keeps searching and staff not concerned for her wellbeing only there own claiming they have rehomed and made money forhelping herwith no concern they don't return calls no understand for my health and well-being has I suffer from depression to I have had her since she was 9 weeks old to see her in the state she in is making life realy hard when star was in shelter she sat feared and shivering noone informed me I had to fight my way in and saw her just sat shivering if I had not gone of my own back I feel she would have died everything staff do is to make themself feel like they are apart af a helping world they don't care at all its just so they got rutine in there life they no respect for owners rights and preferences they know whats best and thats what they do she is not the same cat I hope staff understand a d return her goods for her health and well-being asap staff being Wendy and nicola who have refused to care from the day I have informed of health and put manager Debbie in who seems to side with them?where is your care and love i don't know i never saw any,there is a volunteer there who actually knows how to speak and deal with people from experience of talking you should become manager thank you for your help I think he kaal
The staff and volunteers were very welcoming and helpful. All the animals at this shelter are extremely loved and cared for. We went there to donate some items and get to know the cats. I was also able to find a nice teapot from the charity shop : will be visiting again!
Millstream do fantastic work for homeless cats. They are so well looked after. Very worthwhile supporting them.
If you fancy a cat cuddle and maybe get to take one home then this is a great place. I wasn't feeling great the other day and my friend dropped some cat food off and I got overly snuggled by the resident kitty's. I went back to work feeling fab.
These guys at Millstream are the shelter of shelters.... these cats are well looked after and the people here dont judge you Having to part with a pet can sometimes be painful but the animals welfare comes first with these guys.
We have just received two rescue kittens. Fabulous caring team of volunteers
Excellent shelter that always do their best for rescued cats and kittens. We have both our cats from there and I know I can always contact them for advice
