Manchester Dogs' home is so well run. Clean, tidy, and staff are very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. My dog Ringo is from there. He's been with me a few weeks now and is so sweet. And strong! Pics of Ringo enjoying being on holiday in Brighton 2024
We adopted our beautiful Diesel from here, I couldn’t be more grateful that I have her. The staff were lovely when we went, we had the checks done, met our new family member and took her home the same day. She’s an absolute dream. Now she’s loving her life as a spoilt sofa dog and goes on Campervan adventures. Thank you for choosing us for her!
Caring and friendly staff who clearly care for all the pooches in their care. We adopted a cocker spaniel from them nearly 3 weeks ago. The staff seemed sad to see him go . It's lovely to see a shelter that cares so much for the animals in their care. Clean and comfy kennels. We took our existing two to meet the new pile of fluff in an enclosed play area. The staff member with us was very knowledgeable about their behaviour. The adoption process itself was simple and straightforward.
Went to Cheshire dogs home and found it to provide excellent service and they are very fast to respond friendly informative staff always happy to help and support you through the adoption process, Lola was with us within a week of us registering our interest in her, and on the second visit we brought her home. we are very happy with Lola she’s settled in very well and after twenty four hours looks like she been here for ever Very clean place and the dogs are looked after very well thank you to all the staff, it was so nice to see you all come out and say goodbye to Lola as she left your care, it’s a joy to give a dog a second chance and you are doing a great job.
They do very important work, there's no doubt about that. Unfortunately, we've not had the greatest experience with them. When my partner and I visited on a Saturday there was no one at reception. We caught a passing staff member to ask about some of the dogs, she was quite abrupt and told us to check on the website for all details which we already had. The next staff member we tried was friendly but gave us some wrong info about the dogs; the only reason we learnt this was wrong info was that we talked to a THIRD staff member who said the second one was a new recruit. Third staff member was great, very friendly and gave us lots of useful info about the dogs which was not on the website. So it's a good thing we were persistent! We submitted an application but heard nothing for two weeks. We did phone twice and both times were promised they would "check" on the status of our applications, but we heard nothing. I understand they're very busy but it's tough for us to know whether we should move onto other dogs/rescues without a clear idea of whether we've been unsuccessful or not. Having also visited the Dogs Trust, we found that experience more pleasant with staff more willing to answer questions, and the venue feeling friendlier as well.
We adopted Blue a few weeks ago. The staff were very helpful and professional and caring about the right home and right dig being matched.. They made it all much easier than other organisations. Blue is a little star and has livened us all up!
Recently adopted Gus from Manchester dogs home. He is a wonderful little Dorkie and fitted straight into our pack. Lovely place and people, Lots of poor doggies needed a second chance. Can't recommend enough. Thank you so much.
Absolutely terrible and long adoption process, you get a automated email saying don’t here in five days your not successful, you back to the centres a week later or so and them SAME dogs are still Just sat there no sign of reserved signs or nothing, you put on your application all your details and my partner stays at home which I think is amazing when have a dog but you hear nothing! There needs to be major improvements when applying and at least a system where you do here back if unsuccessful for whatever reason and to try again on a different dog! Go back to the old ways! Turn up show interest put a form in so the staff can see the people applying at face value. Ridiculois way of doing things
Absolutely brilliant experience in my hour of need, such a great place, for my final departure to my lap cat..sad times but they went every inch of the way, for her cremation and casket. Very Big Thanks to Colin and all the staff. So kind all of you !! xx
Rescued a puppy 14 years ago. She died last year. Went today. You can’t get near the dogs or interact with them anymore. Terrible set up now. I will just buy a dog now. Very disappointed in Manchester dogs home.
