I had only a brief experience of a couple of calls to Midlothian Council so far and the ladies who answered the calls were very polite and helpful - just lovely. I saw some terrible comments below and I don't know what the problem is so far. Will update later if anything changes but just now everything seems to be fine. The pothole problem is a problem - that's for sure. Hoping Council will find a moment to review the techinques and materials used for roads as this is something that came with European Union schemes - time for a change and new materials to discover.
Definitely would have been zero score if possible. Definitely not recommend if going in to social health care to work residentially due to poor Management including present day unless you are a Yes person the management would love .nI worked for them way back and much better and professional Management in social health residential setting however all changed in around 2016 onwards were they MC changed Management and destroyed Newbyres .nIf it was not for ground staff Newbyres would be closed by nownAnd definitely not a disability awareness confident employer as they band it on their job website .Will hopefully getting MC to remove that from job websitenwhich should be taken off and learned recently all industry sign up to it but as usual the council fails badly on this .nWarning shot by the way don’t signn.up to Unions in MC as they work very closely to Management and shake hands with them despite the worker paying every month .nFactual as with my dealings and recording and evidence Management I are protected by UnionsnIf you join one GMB the one as the Unite and Unison are in Management pocketsnPure fact!
Absolute car crash of a place.nInept and negligent don't begin to describe them.nThey have an automatic phone waiting time cut off of 20 minutes...fair enough, bit when you finally get to #1 in the queue at 19 minutes and 35 seconds it kind of annoys when you get cut off and have to restart the process.nCalled the 'feedback' staff complaints dept in any other language and was faced by a staff member so ill equipped to deal with frustrated callers it was almost funny. I was told off and she continued to argue with me over my attitude, wasting her time and mine. Finally found out a council tax reduction application put in in February 26th, had not yet been processed July 2nd. Promised a call back by a manager, which is yet to happen.nUseless does not come close to describing their idiocy and bungling.
Phoned to complain about Penicuik Road at Glencorse Barracks needing swept, hungnOn listening to music, being told I was 1st in the queue for 15 mins 56 sec, then abruptly cut off. What kind of servicenare we paying rates for?
Very nice wee town love this place highly recommended for shops touring with the family
