There are lots of empty plots where shops used to be thriving. Has a dirty feel to it once inside. Car park is awful, and what's worse is the local council charges you to park, and the minimum is a pound - which is scandalous. The car park is also dirty and smells.nnEDITnnHBC - Charging disabled people to park is an absolute disgrace. As photographed, HBC will now charge for disabled parking.
It's a shopping centre. Like most centres these days there are a fair number of empty units and there is a reasonable selection of the major retailers.nThe centre itself is indoors, generally clean, warm and well lit. It covers two floors with lifts, escalators and stairs to move between the levels.
OK to shop around for a few bits. The B&M, Sports Direct, and Greggs/McDonalds for quick food. The indoor market is good for fresh fruit, veg, and meat. Not many bigger shops anymore as they keep opening and closing.
The Middleton Grange is a boring shopping centre because all it has is some grocery stores, three or four charity shops and five other shops. Most of this shopping centre is practically dead. This shopping centre might or might not get replaced by something that is modern but I don't know if that will benefit any of the residents of this town in terms of shopping. Houses might be get built as a part of the new plans for the replacement of this shopping centre but having houses in an environment were there is a lot of traffic and noise will open a branch of possible conflicts. If you are thinking of going to the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, please look in both of the nearby retails parks that are near the shopping centre and I recommend you to wait to see when and what the finish plans are. The new plans might hold some more shops.
Pleasantly surprised at how many shops are here and all under cover. Ample parking spaces and no ridiculous charges unlike other places, car park lifts take you straight into the centre. Tidy, clean, spacious, wide array of shops, coffee shops, places to get snacks/lunch. Didn't manage to cover all the shops at this visit as I didn't expect much to be honest but I have to say....its got more to offer for shopping facilities under one roof than Middlesbrough or Stockton. Will give it another go most definitely.
