Delicious food. Ordered Full vegan breakfast but received Full English breakfast, good thing we're not vegetarian. We ate downstairs, it may just need a bit of juicing up with mop etc out of sight. A good All day breakfast menu is always a winner Food: 5/5
Had a pause after some mixed reviews, and I wouldn't want to contradict others' valid experiences, but the full English with meat was very good indeed. Crispy bacon, well cooked sausage, nice black pudding, excellent home-made style baked beans, perfect poached eggs. Lovely cherry tomatoes, nicely fried mushrooms, a health slice of toast, and even a little potato rosti. There was not a crumb left on my plate.
Popped in to treat a friend to a surprise coffee, and was greeted with a big smile from the staff, felt very warm and welcomed. I didn't have the coffee but my friend really liked it, I did however have the carrot cake, which is by far the best I've had 5/5. Safe to say I went back again, for another slice. I've also tried the vegetarian breakfast which is really filling and a delight. I will be back again the decor is also stunning got a very hip, chill vibe thumbs up.
I’ve just moved to Lewisham recently and this cafe has become my go to. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is amazing. I think everyone should try the black current crumble at least once it’s my favourite treat here!!
I’ve been here several times as the coffee is good and the place is conveniently located. Staff is not particularly friendly but normally polite. However my last experience was bad. I was served my coffee in a paper cup because “we’ve run out of the other ones”. I said that’s a shame, it doesn’t taste the same in paper cups. But received no apology. I then went to get some water and immediately noticed that there were ceramic cups available so I mentioned this to the guy who’d served me the coffee. He rolled his eyes at me and said “oh god, it’s just a cup”. No apology. Apart from the rather rude response, it seems the staff has no appreciation for coffee or how it’s best served.
We were surprised to find this cafe that, online looked amazing. The reality however was disappointing. I wouldn't say staff were unpleasant, but certainly didn't get the warm smiles and welcome others have reported. I ordered a tiny Chocolate Guiness cake and a Salted Caramel Canelé cake, the latter was lovely but the Guiness cake was dry. A bit expensive considering the area we sat outside was dirty with plates on all tables and the inside just looked grubby. I gave it a 2 out of 10, because it should've been really nice, I felt it lacked and did not come close to the images in the picture. Dietary restrictions: We were able to have milk alternatives, e.g. Oat milk/Almond milk.
I live near Middleton and it is my location to buy good quality bread. It used to have a really lovely and friendly staff. But nowadays the staff look unhappy and grumpy. I don't often hear 'hello' and 'thank you' at all. Today I came in just to buy a loaf of bread before closing and, as soon as I came in, I was told they were closed. Despite that they still had customers sitting and knowing that I normally just buy bread. The food is okay and tasty but customer service has a lot to improve.
I have visited this coffee shop since day one! Loyal to the core daily. I have even driven a staff member to collect coffee when they had a very late delivery! Firstly the 12oz latte like all coffee shops came with 2 shots standard. The 12oz was done away with and a small cup replaced! Still £3.10 then it was decided the second shot was chargeable as 1 shot is not standard apparently! So my medium latte is now £3.60… and if I want a tipple of toffee nut… 50p so my medium toffee nut latte is now £4.10… £1 more than Le Dece in Ladywell and more expensive than Starbucks for the exact same beverage, but smaller! Then the unhappy staff reviews… and the massive and constant turn around of staff.. I will tell you why this is this is because the owner sits watching their every move on the camera… to where they can not physically breathe and feel completely on edge! I ask for extra milk as I am not a fan of the throth and today I was approached in the street and asked not to help myself to milk…. Seriously I ask and they hand me the jug which I put back when they are serving the next! The accusations from the owner are insane and to corner me in the street when I was on my own is insane! What a complete bully!
Overpriced coffee and food for a place with unprofessional staff. The girl with a rude attitude and making coffee is clearly not trained to do so if she cannot froth milk milk was too hot! and the guy sitting there with a T-shirt with a hole as a cashier looked like a most bored person in the world. It’s like some hipster place, except it’s not Shoreditch
French toast is tasty, but oddly flat and small for the price. Soup was good, but one of the server's left the bathroom without washing his hands Food: 3/5
