This was a great station for both arrival and departure, with appropriately sized platforms for the trains! The design blends the roof in well with the rest of the station and departure boards are kept up to date; station sign is modern itself. Access is easy from the streets and station is kept lit properly, although it is a tad dirty like the town unfortunately.

Terrible experience. Used Middlesbrough Station for a connect to York. Had 30 minutes wait. Cafe closed, sat in cold station outside whsmith. No warm waiting roomnReturn journey into Middlesbrough to find connecting train cancelled. Had to wait 30 minutes in platform 2 waiting room. Cold, cold, cold. Heaters not on. If money is been spent on this station then think about improving to keep the public happy not silly 'works of art'
This is a lovely old station, trains run frequently, friendly staff and very clean and tidy. Free toilet facilities. Small shop on site too.
A small station compared to others; although it's not busy; friendly staff at the desk; although I didn't notice any security walking around?... 1 shop inside; and 2 vending machines; Pretty clean place with well placed bins
