There's not much going on at this station, with limited seating and shelter available on the platforms. There is a signalling box next to the station but not much to look at otherwise.nnIt has regular services towards Middlesbrough, Darlington and Saltburn, as well as plenty of freight services passing through.
Convenient open air train stop for local residents
Ideal for locals like me...love it
If you happen to be on a train which stops here then, save the old signal box across the other side of level crossing at the eastern end of the station, it has to be said it will most likely be something of a non-event. The lack of facilities and diminutive wooden platforms mounted on stilts suggest that money has not been lavished on bringing this station into the 20th, never mind the 21st century, though at least there is a covered waiting area. A grim place to catch a train in winter or at night and not a car park in sight.
