I recently closed my bank accounts with another bank due to poor service. I didn’t know anything about Metro Bank until I made enquiries on the Internet. Which all very positive. From the moment I walked in to the bank I realised it this was going to be a new experience At a time other banks are closing branches Metro Bank appears to be opening them everywhere. The bank itself is very large spacious clean tidy and modern with extremely friendly staff.the Branch in Borehamwood even has a safety deposit box room for valuables and also has a toilet. As I walked to the main foyer I noticed two bowls of water for dogs there even dog treats at the Cashiers counters .overall my experience so far with his bank has been excellent and I’m very happy that I’ve change banks. As a final mention they are in fact guaranteed by the financial services organisation which means that first £85,000 of your money is protected in the event they Become insolvent. Five star rating is frankly not even adequate for the extremely good service this bank is offering to its customers

In the instance in which it is in the greatest commercial interests of this bank to expedite assisting a customer, that of opening a new bank account, it is this branch's practise to require a new customer to sit and wait within their bank for 45 minutes. In response to this evidence of their being overwhelmed with a greater volume of custom than they are equipped to cater for, the suggestion was made that the client simply make an appointment for 45 minutes' time. However, the bank's response was that this was not possible and that the only way one could open an account here was (implicitly) by first proving that one's time was of little value, by sitting still and waiting for 45 minutes. The only logical conclusion to draw is that the appointment of someone with so conspicuous a limitation in capability of oversight with respect to the operation of this branch, evidences that those who own this bank have no interest in high value accounts and that this bank sees itself as being tailored towards persons for whom the unnecessary and arbitrary loss of 45 minutes of otherwise productive time, is not a serious issue. While high value accounts are certainly not encouraged to be opened at Metro Bank, the staff here certainly seem to be courteous and friendly (and inevitably patient) and the venue is spacious and would be pleasant to spend up to 15-20 minutes in if a) they offered free coffee, newspapers, and more seating, and b) the developer of the content on the interactive screen for children, were first required to test the featured application before it were released onto an intelligent juvenile audience. That said, the logic of asking a child to guess a value without detailing what this value pertains to (which is what the application does), could be argued to be entirely consistent with the logic of not agreeing to a customer returning in 45 minutes if no-one within the bank were available to assist with account opening within 45 minutes.

90% of the time the service is excellent here. Though I've never understood the point of the "greeter" who now asks me if I'm ok. Yea I am thanks, how about do something useful and get behind the counter and serve people :) However, counter staff are excellent, wish there were more of them and less desk people. I guess the desks are where the new money comes in though right?

I'd give no stars if I could.... It's only based on the most recent issue.... I have had next plc recently offer me a credit account of 3750k....i turned this down as I could do with a loan, it's worked out to pay off my credit building card of 3k would cost me 1/3 of what I pay to the credit card company with a loan from the bank, so figured I'd apply, if I'm getting offers from next of extreme amounts and they too use equifax for the credit searches. After spending 45mins with a lady explaining the above offer and how I'd paid of in the last month 4 credit accounts that I've been paying off for over 3 years.... I was turned down for a loan! They told me to check my equifax, to which I did, and all my accounts are green! Its just a joke! I pay all my credit accounts and I have about 10 of them.... And not all are maxed out! I'm so angry!
