Merchant Chippie

This is definitely the best fish & chips in Glasgow. It accompanied me through my master’s life in Glasgow, can’t even forget this place. Hope it would stay as long as it can and wait until my revisit. I miss ya merchant chippie.

Tourist attraction. I went against my better judgement and paid £12 for a cod supper when I saw the raving reviews. This chippy is not a 5 star chippy. The cod was nice, but I've paid half the price for the same meal in other chippys.

Best fish n chips in Glasgow. Sensationally melt-in-the-mouth cod, cooked with the most perfect, honey-coloured, crunchy batter. The chips and mushy peas are just great. I love this place.

Great fish and chips at a good price! We ordered the battered haddock which came with a huge portion of chips with the supper package. The mash pea was perfectly done with minimum handle which makes its taste so natural! Tips: minimum 10 £ for using credit card.

Popped in today after reading reviews online. Freshly cooked fish was beautiful. Chips perfect too. Loved it. I’ll be back next time a chippy is on the menu.

Service is shocking and food standard has nosedived. I will never return which is a shame as it was good. Avoid if you can it is not worth the money or the hassle.

Excellent freshly fried fish suppers. Fish portions are a little smaller than average, but fresh and very high quality. Chips are very good. There's a few little tables by the windows that are an excellent place to sit and eat at no extra charge. Would highly recommend.
