Brought my van in yesterday for a simple recall job - gave it me back with an engine management light and they want £120 to have a look at it. I wish I never took it into this cowboy outfit. No paperwork provided either. I thought this were an international company not a back street garage.
***update..so just arrived, and it's going out for test drive, I guess they've had it in and done the work today. I guess I should take back what I said below. *** So far, my van has been in for repair 3 times prior to today, and so far, they have not repaired it... ...So, they make appointments for 0830 drop off and ask when I need it back..."1700 today" is my reply. They have said multiple times it requires a 4 hour appointment; when I arrive at 1630 every time they say, "it was just ready for going in...it MAY be ready for 1800 or 1830". WHAT is the point of making an 0830 appointment if it is not going into workshop until 1630 for a 4 HOUR repair...and doubly so, when they ask what time I need it back for...!!! It is now in again for the 4th time...I have yet to see if they have even started on the repair... I guess we'll see how it pans out...
Just taken delivery of new electric vito van. Very happy with it. This is my 7th Mercedes Van now bought from new and always been happy with the sales and back up service and Mobile Go back up provided from Ciceley Commercials both at Darwen and Bolton branches.
The worst experience in 20 years of business dealing with these guys. Lies, failed to repair,parts excuses were a joke. Don't know if it's just the dealer,owned many Mercs,but I'm not sure anymore. Update.... Cicely contacted me, asking to supply more details,gave me their email address,I responded, Gmail tried for 5 days... could not deliver..... even that doesn't work!!
EDIT AFTER RESPONSE: This review was originally left in December 2022, no explanation why it took them 3+ months to reply. I note with some interest that they have not given their name despite using mine. We spent £40,000 inc vat for a new Mercedes Sprinter Luton van for our upholstery deliveries in 2016. It was leaking on the day we went to collect it, was repaired with silicone, and then began leaking again shortly after. In 2017 it went back in for repair as the rear step had rusted and tie rails detached from the body. At 30k miles both front hubs had to be replaced, the tie rails have all detached from the vehicle again, the adblue sensor has been defective for the past year, and we wouldn't bother wasting our time with this company again. If anyone is interested I'm happy to provide the full transcript, as boring as it is, but the short version is that if you complain, they escalate and you end up with people shouting at you over the phone. They could do with some lessons in customer service, if only to improve their customer retention. We certainly won't be going back there, as it doesn't appear that they have changed the way they operate in the past six years. Original review: On the 30th July 2016  our company placed an order for a Mercedes sprinter box van with specified body size reg PN66KME. We did not receive the body size specified, moreover when I went to collect the vehicle there were items missing, the size was wrong and the luton box floor was awash with water. I was told it would dry out, at this point I refused to sign for the van even though the sales guy was insisting I do so, a fact he later denied, from which I gathered I must be a liar. He told me the company who had built the body, JCpayne, would send a technician out to fix the problem. This was never rectified and has continued to leak even up to the present day. One quarter of the plywood bulkhead has developed wet rot. The roller shutter at the rear has come off its bracket twice, and all the securing rails failed within the first year of ownership. When I did call the customer service to complain a young lady there blew up and had a tantrum down the phone at me, accusing me of abusing her. This was followed by a phone call from their service manger who was quarrelsome and said he could see why his associate had a problem with me. He also said I have a problem with women in business, which I have to say made me laugh because I work in an office with two women. At this point my business partner Amelia  wanted to speak to him as she was sitting next to me when I made the call, but he refused saying he had said all he was going to say on the matter, but that they would not tolerate verbal abuse of their staff. After this interaction I was staggered and resolved not to have any further dealings with them and once the service contract was finished we would not return. My problems with this van continue today, even though the current mileage is just 45k. More recently one of our drivers managed to clip the front top corner on a branch and rather than have to speak to Cicely Commercial I contacted JC Payne the manufacturers, who told me they have no record of that vehicle on their files, and that it would cost £3500 to fix the problem, I asked them if it would be dry after that, NO RESPONSE. I do not know what to make of this recent development. Our business is going to need another van in 2023 due to opening another store. Update had this been a glowing recommendation of there business practices i am sure they would of responded. as it is they choose to ignore it.
Air bag recall on the Merc van. Got there 5 minutes late due to the freezing weather but still only had to wait 40 minutes in all for the job to be carried out. Brilliant..
Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. Real value for money! Steve the salesmen was a gentleman to deal with and look forward to dealing with him again sometime soon. Lisa that dealt with my finance was pro active in searching for my company and well prepared when she called me to arrange finance. Made the process very easy and stress free. I had very little to do and she was able to answer all questions I had regarding the finance. Overall, a star service with the two people I dealt with and would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.
Great staff service could be better lack of communication really need to improve wasted 1 hour looking for keys found key couldn't find vehicle best rang day before to notify i am collecting . Please start communicating.
Excellent service. All work was carried out overnight and my van was ready for me at 7am next morning. Highly recommended
