Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Nice walk around the lake, contemporary art. The Earl, George is a lovely person to talk to and his mum was really nice too, giving us a warm smile and a wave as we left. Tea room has tasty cakes and sandwiches, although a little pricey. However the cost of entry is great value. Loved the art in the sculpture park.

Obviously, these gardens have a huge potential. Especially because they can compliment such great house. But the path around the lake is unpleasantly muddy and the weeds are enormous. Navigation is difficult because the signs are quite ambiguous. The sculptures... do not compliment the character of the house. Although the swans are very happy there. And you can find wild raspberries here and there.
